I just made a new bunper sticker for the arse's in Iraq...........it says.........

Is it wrong to hope that this is all over by May, so that I can afford to put gas in the boat? Am I going to hell, because even though people are going to die, my thoughts are on the price of gas?

Actually the prices may drop with a war, we have an oil reserve now, so they shouldn't get too high either way. Also, we don't get much oil from iraq because of the embargo, most of our oil comes from Venezuela. Hopefully though Sadam will stop being retarded and war won't be needed.

p.s. I 've seen something like that on a car, except it said "nuke their ass and take their gas" and had a picture of iraq with a big mushroom cloud coming of it.

Otto is very correct in his statement. Venezuela is in the middle of some internal conflict and that is why gas prices jumped .13 cents last month. Iraq is more about weapons and the stability of oil prices in western Europe. Even their oil is primarily supplied by Russia.

But say we go to war with Iraq, and of course, we win. Would we take their oil, or at least set up some puppet-companies that would sell us Iraqi oil cheap? Wouldn't that make the gas price go down?

im not sure that bush will make the call to use our reserves in the evenet of war. for one his buddies out in west texas are all dependent upon the oil business. for two he could use the excuse that our reserves are already low so we should not deplet ethem anymore. but the only thing that would cuase oil prices to go up in the event of war is the extra useage of petroleum products by our military which probably wont make that much of a difference.

One reason for the spike in gas prices is= remember when in desert storm sadam had his oil reserves rigged to blow up in case we tried to take them from him. well he did this again and in the event of him blowing up all his oil, this would surely cause a shortage and thus the prices have risen.

Dont look for the prices to go down very quickly. We have a long way to go before that. So congrats Wes it looks as though you will be banking now that the oil prices are up.

I think the biggest reason for gas price hikes is the Venezuelen oil strike.

Iraq's oil would only help their economy, not much of ours, if Mr Insane were remvoed.

I think our Government has some evidence that proves Iraq has weapons of Mass Destruction. Colin Powell announced that they will be presenting some of it to the UN in the next few days. I guess there are some issues about giving up to much information may comprimise our intelligence gathering. Like it or not I think we are going to War...

The oil isn't for the USA it's for our Allies. As several of us have stated the USA primarily gets oil from South America, mainly Venezuela who is having trouble with labor strikes. Once we are done with Iraq we can move onto stabilizing Venezuela.

To the people that say: "Let's wait and see if they can find any evidence" . Do you all have a freaking brain? When the gulf war ended, Iraq stated they had wepons of mass destruction. For, what 7 years, they hid them throughout the country. The UN would find some here and there and then they would disapear. Then Iraq kicks out all of the inspectors for a few years. We then say we are going to declare war, so they say come on back in. We still find war heads and proof they have chemical material to make wepons. Do they have some, YES. They have admitted it before. Do you think they would just start tearing them down when the UN is not around? They didn't do it in the past why would they do when there is no UN monitoring them and when the UN is looking they defy them?

Ok, a lot of our oil comes from S. America. But if we could take some of Iraq's, why, that would lower the price, wouldn't it?

Personally I wish this thing would just end. Not just because of gas, i mean that would be a bonus... but Its really getting me all freaked out... I know we are going to win ... but look at what damage they have already done. The muslim dudes are already pissed off, now they are just looking for a way to get over here. I think big things are goning to happen and its going to hit us closer to home than we realize... if we go to war well i guess we already are, but if we do techiniqely its not just going to be overseas its going to end up over here... think about it

I don't think much will happen over here and I don't think it will depend on the Iraq war either, here is why:

I think that the crazy terrorists wouldn't wait for the war, if they could kill us now they would, look at Israel, why would they wait. They will hate us no matter what we do. If they are already here with bombs or whatever, waiting would be pretty stupid. It would give the U.S. authorities more time to find them. I think if any of them get a chance, they would take it immediately. I also think that they don't care if we go to war or not, either way they want to get us. Look at the Sept attacks, we weren't at war then. Bottom line is there are crazy terrorist out there that want to kill us independently of what happens to iraq.

Cameraboy- Even if we invade Iraq we will never be able to take thier oil. First off the oil belongs to companies. Secondly just like every other country we've invaded we aren't going to take over. The USA military will set up a few military bases, set up free elections, and over see the new government. While this is happening we will also pump money into the Iraqi economy and try to win the hearts and minds of the people.

OK Nor cal, but I think we would install a government which, in return, would sell us oil. Companies own the oil, ok. Companies from where? And who are their contracts for that oil with? Are they with the government we are about to topple? So after we topple that government, are those contracts valid?

How do you know this stuff? I'm just speculating.

I think the longer we wait the more time they(iraq in this case) has to plan and put things together to fight against us, Look at it like this Sadam it giving thousands of dollars to people's family that will become suicide bombers and kill Israelis so its just a matter of time until he pays people to kill americans and the more time he has to put chemical and biological weapons together, anyone that denies that they have them knows that they really do.

I hope it is a quick war, and i deffinitly think we should go to war with iraq, but just imagine if while we were fighting iraq we had a terrorism shizzle happned again, mabee on a larger scale, then North Korea does something stupid, what would really happen ? Cameraboy- From what I've been reading Iraq supplies less than 8% of our countries oil. Most of the Iraqi oil is shipped to France and Russia. Cheveron buys a lot of Iraqi oil already but just like any commodity there are economic factors that are involved.
