Not sure how I got on this mailing list since I don't own a BU
but I got this email
Hello Malibu Boat Owner-
It has come to our attention that there is a potentially serious problem affecting some versions of the Wedge foil and uprights.
This situation arises when one or more of the screws securing the foil to the uprights fail under load. The result is severe damage to the Wedge along with possible damage to the surrounding fiberglass. It does not pose a serious problem to the boats occupants, or the rider being towed, and is more an inconvenience than anything.
Please contact your local dealer for more information regarding afflicted boats, and the solution that has been developed.
More information and relevant images can be reviewed at the following link. Any questions you may have can also be addressed to the collective MBO community there as well.
called the boat shop and then they said that it was due to overtightening of the screws that hold the wedge onto the arms. They said there really wasn't much that they can do, but I am calling Malibu tommarrow. _________________ "Why do you keeping asking me if I am allright?"
I am pretty sure it is only a specific production lot. I think they just put new bolts on at the correct torque. _________________ My opinion is my opinion!
