Hello, first off i would like to thank everyone for the help in my purchase of my new Bu VLX. I ordered my boat with all options except the dual swivel seats and the audio upgrades...considering that i want to install better speakers later on anyways so why waste the $$$. The thing is im not sure what audio/tower system i should get. I wanna deck it out so what would you guys consider to be the ultimate sound system. if your in a good mood, it would be great if you could name the stereo, tower speakers, amps etc for me so i can look them up THANKS!

Congratulations on your new ride. Good choice if I do say.
Systems: I can't believe that no one else has posted yet so I'll try and get this started.
Firstly, I suggest you decide clearly on what it is you want to achieve. Major choices would include; 1) good sound in the cabin of the boat, 2) good sound for the rider at 75 feet, 3) good sound for all while at the beach or parked on the trailer, 4) good sound in the cabin and swim deck, lastly 5) all the above.
As with sound systems in cars or homes, it really is a personal thing as to what sounds good to you. Properly powered quality speakers in quality enclosures are the basics. I believe that these concepts apply mostly to "IN" the Boat sound objectives. Once you step outside the boat, things start to change. The further you are, the more they change.
So, I'll leave you with that. I'm sure you'll have more then enough to digest shortly as this seems to be one of this boards favorite topics.
One last thing, check out as many systems as you can yourself and you may start to develope more clearly what it is YOU want/like.
Haven't check'd your profile to see where you are but in my area systems tend to be VERY BIG. I'm talking 6,000 to 10,000 watts or more which seems to hit you up for about $1.25 a watt or so.

NVSAirWarrior - You have it right some of boats out there have some pretty mean sound systems.
I think the best thing you can do is go to a stereo shop that can let you listen to different setups. _________________ Grab some pine meat! |

1759, pretty mean for sure.
I would agree with your suggestion if the bu newbie is interrested in In Cabin sound, or maybe sound to the swim deck. Beyond that I feel strongly about checking stuff out in the environment that you are going to use it.
Just like the boat purchase. An informed decision would be one that included a ride behind the boat. So it goes with sound at 75 feet....IF that's what you want to achieve. Not much of the "off the shelf" stuff does this very well IMO.
A this point I'll just mention a couple of subs to look at. My personal favorite is the Infinity Kappa Perfect. I've heard this and it is awsome. However, on paper, a slightly better one might be the Image Dimension IDMAX. Again, haven't heard it but on paper it out performs the Perfect a bit. Get a good Class D amp to go with it(them)....two 12's would be nice!
