I have a 1985 mastercraft 190 and am wondering if anybody has any advice on getting a decent wake. Right now I have 2 fatsacs (1100 lbs) one on each side of the motor. It is ok but not great. I'm not too sure on putting more weight in the boat since it already is not handling that great. I'll do it if is going to make a huge difference.
Has anyone ever put a wedge on a mastercraft? Will the hull need major reinforcing?
Has anyone tried putting a tab similiar to what Tige uses on a mastercraft?
Need more air for bigger wipeouts...

I used to own a 1986 MC Prostar 190. I ran 320 lbs. in the bow, 1 large fat sack in the rear (540 lbs, I think). The wake was okay. It gets much better when you put 2 more fat sacks on each side of the engine and put 6 people in the boat. If you do this, don't powerturn and watch out for rollers over the bow because you can swamp it in a heartbeat.
I'll take my '83 SN 2001's wake over it any day, though... |

A friend of mine has the MC "Stars and Stripes" from 1985 - he added a custom ballast system under the rear seat (which he replaced with a sundeck). He has lead bars on both sides on the edges of the boat, and more lead up front. the wake is awesome. I'm guessing that it's maybe 1700-2000lbs total. _________________ www.led-concepts.com |

I have an 82 s&s, and seem to get a better wake with 1 fatsack under the bow, and 1 behind the engine vs both on the side of the engine. I think this boat neds a bit more weight up front. Right now, I fill the rear fatsack full, and fill the front fatsack about half way. Its not a huge wake, but well shaped and solid.
putting a fatsack under the bow is a pain tho to fill with a standard airator pump. Im looking at getting a self priming impeller pump just to fill/drain the front sack. |

Well I tried keeping the large sac in back 600 lbs and put the other in the bow 400 lbs. It was ok. The boat handled better. The wake kind of sucked. I think I need more sacs. Maybe 1 in bow, 1 in back, and 1 on each side of the engine. _________________ 1985 Mastercraft

| you could try the fat seat in the back. Whatever you do, keep us posted. im a little scared to add more weight to my boat, it sits so low in the water as it is, but if you get a nice big wake I'd have to reconsider adding more. |
