okay, I know all of you are gona say shoes right away but just let me say somthin. I've been wake skatin for a good amount of time, not addicted, but whenever i can find someone to drive. Ive got a foam top, and i personally just like bare feet when i ride. Well maybe thats cuz i usually just go out and cruise for the sake of not getting numb feet from bindings, but i do some tricks also. I no shoes are better for agressive tricks and the like but what do you guys think?

I took the griptape off of my skate & put surfboard traction pads on it so I could ride barefoot. You're not the only one out there.

I have ridden both, and I must say I like the feeling of shoes as opposed to bare feet on a board. I am not that good, I can do butter slides, surface 180's, and somewhat of a lip slide, so I am by no means a pro, but with the shoes and the grip tape, I felt more "attached" to the board, more responsive. The bare feet on the foam just felt "slippery" to me and I didnt have the amount of control as the aforesaid shoe/grip tape combo. _________________

I with you Dpierce37, I may not be a pro, but I feel much more comfortable wearing shoes (although I prefer a foam deck). I have ridden w/out shoes many times, but I've landed things wearing my shoes that woulnd't be possible bare footed.

I'm a shoe guy. I like grip tape and shoes, I think it just feels right to me. I tried foam once, I didn't like the squeakiness and the board to foot contact. Just my preference though. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. Get your $*** together Billy, cause the night ain't over!"

i like to ride both ways....but when i wanna snap, pop, w2w, on my board, SHOES. just because of the support. However, I like the feel of the board without shoes. I take off the shoes when i just wanna ride and carve... With shoes, you have to get use to it a little because you loose that feeling of the board. But once you get contol of the board w/shoes, thats how youll spend most of your time riding from then on.
