I was sent info on this virus and searched for it and it was on my harddrive. Here's more info and how ot delte it. It affects people in your address book.
Here is instructions to check and remove the virus from your computer. My address book WAS infected. If anyone is in the IT filed or knows about this virus you can chime in too.
HERE'S HOW TO CHECK FOR THE VIRUS AND HOW TO GET RID OF IT. YOU MUST DO THIS:
>
> 1. Go to start, Find or Search Option.
> 2. In file folder option, type the name jdbgmgr.exe
> 3. Be sure you search your C: drive and all
> subfolders and hidden files (it was on my C drive)
> and any other drives you may have.
> 4. Click "find now"
> 5. DO NOT OPEN THE VIRUS! It has a teddy bear icon
> with the name jdbgmgr.exe
> 6. Go to Edit (on the menu bar) and choose "select
> all" to
> highlight the file WITHOUT opening it.
> 7. Now go to File (on the menu bar) and select
> delete. It
> will then go to the Recycle Bin.
> 8. IF YOU FIND THE VIRUS, YOU MUST CONTACT ALL
> THE PEOPLE IN YOUR ADDRESS BOOK, SO THEY
> CAN ERADICATE IT IN THEIR OWN ADDRESS BOOKS.

That is a hoax virus. it is an email going around trying to get you to delete a Java management file. If you delete it, it messes up some of your web page viewing ability. Dont delete it!! |

Sorry, buttacup, you just deleted a perfectly good Java file. You just personally did what virus's do, and you did it all yourself.
People, The above info is a known HOAX.
If you don't believe me, check it out yourself.

Yep its a hoax, i.e. nonsense, i.e. waste of time.
Your concerns are appreciated, but please do research on any potential virus and confirm them as real threats before instructing others to make changes to their systems. Virus hoaxes like this propagate from people forwarding them on to everyone they know, it results a chain reaction.

FYI, whenever you get an email instructing you to delete something from your computer, it's best to ask your System Administrator what you should do. He/she WILL have the right answer for you. _________________ my demo reel

I don't imagine we'll be hearing from Buttacup for a bit? Sounds like she has some recovery to do.
Whoever sent that to you, please tell them not to warn you again.
As was stated, check first. Norton, Symantec are both good sites. _________________ I'm hung like Einstein,

I just found out this was a hoax. This was originally sent from my mom to me and I guess I'm a bad person for not checking if viruses are hoaxes or not. In fact I can see this webpage fine. I don't keep up on this kind of stuff, rely too much on my virus protection program. ..sorry for the confusion _________________ This time, like all times, is a very good one if we but know what to do with it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson |
