Depends on the suit. If it is cold out you might not want to mess with it. Also, it is a sizeable investment and you might not want to share it with others. Mine is too difficult to get in and out of so it doesn't matter. The rubber/latex seals are the hardest to get in and out of. The neopryne drysuits might be easier.

I have a Barefoot Int'l and I shared it last season, but not this year. It has really tight seals and is a pain to get out of. This does keep the suit completely dry though. We've used it for two seasons without a drop of water entering. Their website mentions to use a lube on the seals to get on and take it off with, and I think this is a smart idea.

you can share them but I wouldnt because of the cost unless its just short term and your buddy is planning to get one. The only problem could be the neck seal if one of you has a monsterous neck like me and it cuts off circulation!! I had to trim mine a bunch

My brother, Father and myself all share one and it keeps us all perfectly dry (except for the small amound of sweat from being so warm) its extreamly painfull, however to get in and out of. It pulls all the hair off your ankles. Drysuites are only good if your going be constantly using them, but are way to expencive for one or two time a year usage.

I bought a neoprene drysuit for about $260 US, but I hated it. Evil or Very Mad I returned it and got a baggy, rubberized fabric drysuit for about $300 US and love it. Very Happy I use it about 4-5 months out of the year and don't mind sharing if the person is around my size. They are too expensive to just let people borrow, though. Rolling Eyes I'm wearing it in my avatar.
