I recently bought a Prostar190, and have not run it out of water. How is it done? Do I need to go buy some kind of kit or something? Can anyone lead me in the right direction? _________________ I have gone to great lengths to expand my threshold for pain. |

There is an attachment you can buy or make that will connect a water hose to your water intake. If you don't use this you can burn up the rubber impellor. Here's a picture of one for an I/O, a similar attachment is available for inboards.

Since it's not an I/O, he'd probably be more interested in something like "Fake A Lake"
Do an internet search, go to West Marine, Overton's, Ski Unlimited web sites. |

You can buy a "fake a lake" at most boat shops or you can make one yourself. Just take an old school plunger (one with the rubber cup at the end) cut a hole in the rubber part and shove in your hose. Then you put the rubber cup around your water intake and wedge it in place with the wooden handle on the driveway. I used a quick connect on mine and inserted it from the inside so there is no danger of the hose falling off. |

The easiest way is to open the motor box cover. You will see the 1 1/2" radiator style hose that comes from the bottom of the boat. That is the fresh water intake. Take it off and stuff a garden hose in it. Thats it. Turn the hose one and position it so the water flows into it. Start engine, and you are good to go. |

We put a normal garden hose fitting in the water intake line and you just unscrew it, insert the male hose connection, and hook it up to a normal tap.
One other tip: if you're going to run it out of water with the prop turning, keep a hose on the skeg bush because it can get extremely hot and perish if not. _________________ Dont' let go 'till you're six foot under !! |

Go to ski limited website.
Buy the "proflushional"
It is better than fake a lake because there
is no post that can be a pain if intake is blocked by
trailer
It attaches directly to the intake grate with a hook
Suctions around the hull. turn on water and crank |
