I think the largest spider I have come across (other than in a zoo or pet store) has been about an inch and a half in diameter at the tip of the legs.

I would crap myself if I saw a spider that big climbing my walls.

Sean - Where ever the hell you live, I'm moving there! I hate spiders (only huntsman's, like the hairy bastard in that photo), and we regularly get them (every couple of weeks at least, more in winter) 6-8 inches diameter coming into the house. Anything less than that isn't worth worrying about.

Do you guys really not get these very often? Man..... you're lucky.

I've lived in western parts of Canada and the U.S. and have never come across anything that big. Maybe I'm just lucky or maybe just not looking hard enough?

Next time the spiders invade, toss a couple of them into a shoe box and mail them to me. I would love to let a few of them loose in some of my friends homes and scare the #@$%#$ out of them. Laughing

That's a common house spider??? Remind me to not go to Austrailia anymore...I'd sh*t myself if I saw a spider that was as big as my hand.

aubs- you just put some styrofoam in a bucket and a little gasoline and mix it up with a stick or something. it should be at least as thick as hair gel when your done. put like a 1/2 in of gasoline in the bottom of the bucket and break the styrofoam in to little pieces and let them dissolve into the gasoline till it's thick enough.

Yeah we would put used styrofoam blocks ina trash can, Put a plastic trash bag over the top, then poke a whole in it big enough to stick the weedeater in it. Then use the weedeater to chop it all up, then add gasoline.

Well, it just makes a flaming goo that burns through anything it touches and it cant be extinguished. You just sling it on whatever you want it to destroy. Even when you think it is out, it will reignite itself. Thats the kicker, its fun to play with for a while, but them when you get bored with it, what do you do??

you cant really. it will burn until all the fuel is gone which could take hours. You put water or dirt on it and it appears to be out, but then you poke it with a stick and POOF! flames again...

It was one of my favorite childhood "bordom removers". I grew up in the sticks with no friends/neighbors for miles. I had to entertain myself. My next favorite thing was Ant War. That is where you take a shovel and pick up one ant hill and toss it on another. They dont like that too much. Anyway, its a fight to the death. (oh, and these are Texas ants, not those weak lil ants you find on the east coast. Our ants kill people!! HAHA!)

Yeah, a drivers license saved me from loner hell.

the ant wars were the sh*t man. those bastards can fight. another bored TX experiment was fill a gopher hole with acetylene and throw a m-60 in it. make sure you get back when you throw the m-60 though. it may ignite before the firecracker actually explodes.

o.k. I think I'm pretty manly and all

but I would not live in a country where things like that are allowed to freely roam behind whatever household appliance they feel like.

You could have a freakin badger behind the friggin refrigerater... get up for a glass of milk, and never be seen again.
