|
|
| I have two sacks in the back of my boat that I want to fill. One is 750 lbs. and the other is 250 lbs. Can I just "Y" off of the one hose I have going back there and fill both up at the same time? Will the small one fill first and then will it just fill the bigger one when the smaller one is full? Or, will the small one keep getting bigger even after it is full and blow up before the bigger one is full? Thanks. |

the smaller one would fill and then just sit there while the larger sized sack filled completely. _________________ The answer is D - All of the above. |

| You could also just use one hose and connect the two sacks so when one is full it overflows into the other one. Assuming the sacks are fairly close together. |

I tried that once, it didn't work. I think it has something to do with the water pressure inside the first bag being distributed evenly inside the entire sac. So there is very little pressure at the other hole. So very little water trickles out and first sac just continues toi expand.
Just split the input hose to both sacs. I am filling 3 sacs at the same time in my boat. If one fills up first, most of the pressure will go the other sacs. But you still have to be careful and make sure that the first one does not fill up too soon, because it will still continue to fill a little bit. To be safe, you should put ball valves on the input to each sac. That way, you can regulate the flow so that all sacs fills at roughly the same time. |

| i would do a ball valve too, then you could just cut the full one off and the other might fill a little bit faster. |

| I fill my two rear sacks with one pump and a "y" connector on the pump. I have a v-drive so my sacks are in the rear compartments. I bought two thru hull fittings and installed them in the transom above the swim deck and hooked hoses to the second fitting on the bags to the thru hull fittings. I just turn the pump on and wait until I see water flowing out of the fittings and I know the bags are full. the fittings were only like 3 bucks apiece, but you do have to drill holes in the boat ( that was the only hard part. Also my boat has a drain plug directly under the v-drive that is accesable from the inside of the boat. I took out the plug, found a pvc fiting that screwed into the same hole and used it to permenantly install my pump. the bags drain back through the pump when I pull the boat out of the water. |

| I would just leave the 250lb sack full all the time, unless it is in the way. |
