I find it easier to get the rotation on a whirlybird if you switch your edge a lot harder at the top of the wake. Almost like you are starting the backside rotation as you leave the wake. Remember, a whirlybird is more laid out than a regular tantrum, even a T2B. (Laid out, meaning laid out away from the boat vs. over the top). Be sure you bring your forearm across your face with a good tug on the handle. Almost try to scrape your forearm on your face. This will help speed up the spin. I am not a pro or anything, but I have landed a few of these this year, and this is what has really helped me to get the full 360 in there. Oh yeah, don't misinterpret what I said above as leaving early. As I am sure you know, if you are trying whirlys, you absolutely have to wait for the pop. Good luck, I am sure you will have it dialed in no time.

later...

If you're not getting the full rotation, you are not holding your arm across your face long enough.

Here are a couple of tips:
-Don't edge as hard as you do for a normal tantrum.
-Pop straight up(stand tall, no bend in your waist), don't throw the trick across the wake
-delay pulling the rope across your face until you start the flip.
-Hold your arm across your face longer than you think you should.
-look in the direction of your arm. If you look down your arm you will see the landing coming up.

Here is a pic that shows how keeping the handle across your face will unwrap you to finish the spin.
