Like our court systems need to be tied up with anymore crap, we have over 900 lawsuits targeting regular individuals.

I heard that they sued people with as few as five songs...

I've been buying a lot of cd's recently, but I think I'm going to cut back on purchasing them for a while as a result. I don't want to support this.

go to your hard drive and create a new folder----as you downlaod songs immediately transfer them to this folder---you aren't sharing the music but you still have it

Well if you want you can put all your songs onto a Data CD and then just pop it into the computer and play it off there. Theres no way they could track you then.

Yeah, I have close to 22 gigs of music and movies. I shared it for one day after they announced the suing, then immediately stopped. I haven't used kazaa since.

What confuses me, is that to catch someone doing that, they have to be doing something illegal themselves. But that's what's so great about our legal system, hypocrisy is not only allowed, it is the primary means by which ends are met.

Kazza just schooled them and switched to a newer version. Its policy states that the RIAA can't look through users contacts and info because it violates there privacy policy. Download away!!!!

well i like the idea of the new kazaa...but how can you tell everyone to quit sharing their music once they download it...if everyone did that...there would be no more music left to download

Well then we better hope that people still share the music. Thats why its good to have more than one file-sharing program, that way if no one has a song on one program, then maybe someone will have it on another.

Ummm... I know you were joking, but these guys are capitalists. By file sharing it's actually you guys who are acting like communists Wink

Okay, I consider myself as better than your average person when it comes to computer stuff, but for the life of me, I can't find the option to disable sharing! I'm not sure if it's because I have a new version of Kazaa Lite or what, but in the options, it only gives you the option of changing the number of minimum simultaneous uploads, and nothing on disabling it.

Also, I've changed the "sharing" folder, so as not to share anything, but it still shows as me sharing 219 files, though there's nothing in the folder! What the hell???

Help me out here! I use mIRC to get complete cds, but it's only good for new stuff. If I want an older song, I use Kazaa.

jumalian, ---go to the menu that says "my kazaa lite"(with the gold star)...now after you open that highlight a file and press the tab labeled "Share"....it is located just below and to the left of the "My Kazaa Lite" button----that file is no longer shared

For the sake of argument...

I bought the new Stephen King novel last month...read it, loved it, "shared" it with a friend to read.

My neighbor's lawn mower broke, so I let him "share" mine.

My parents "shared" my car last week.

This being said, I downloaded Kazaa last night and am on song #213 now. Come and find me...maybe I'll let you "share" my bathroom.

Get a life, find Jon Benet's killer, then put OJ behind bars... a$$holes.

Song #436 now. I don't even like the music I'm "stealing", it's just really fun.

Anyone know some good Barry Manilow hits?

Ok, even though the "share" tab isn't highlighted, and the folder I'm using doesn't have a single file in it, it still says I'm sharing 219 files. WTF???

Check out this article: http://newsobserver.com/24hour/technology/story/920041p-6406536c.html
They are talking about finding ways to remotely destroy peoples computers that continually share file online. I am confident that this would never pass but it really scares me that there are senators who would actually favor something like this.
