I just started wakeboarding about a month ago I learned on a really cheap board and im not sure if that was my problem but i can carve with no problems my dad just bought a brand new o'brien vision 140 wakeboard and im hoping that it will be easier to start learning tricks.... do the boards really make the diffrence??? im going wakeboarding for a week and trying out the new board for the first time and im really excited...Is it hard to learn new tricks... noone i know wakeboards so i cant really have anyone teach me...anyone have any tips on were to start?? basics? easiest tricks???? Very Happy

biggest thing for a beginner is to relax. the board can make a difference, but its mainly the person riding the board. RELAX! remember that. first tricks might b one wake jumps n surface 180s. its kinda hard to tell you what you should start off doing. do whatever feels comfortable. have fun! Wink

yes, the board will make a difference, but you probably wont notice the difference until you are more advanced. the board i learned on was an obrien buzz with sandal bindings, and i was landing grabs, 180s, and 3s, and that is where i began to feel that a new board would prolly help. good luck in your riding!

yeah i would start with surface tricks, build up to wake jumpin, then go for a pete rose........ just kidding, nah then go for like 1 wake 180s, and build up..... etc....
