|
|
i have a fatsac and no pump yet i got the sac yesterday and are going boarding next week the sac is 540lbs(250ltrs) i dont want to spend alot of money on a pump as i am straped for cash at da moment. I thought maybe getting an old bilge pump for cheap monies$$ but i dont think an older bilge pump would empty it because it doesnt suck the water through a hose, the water comes through a little suction base and out a hose, can anyone point me in the direction for a pump that will empty as well as fill?

You can get an Atwood 750 gph Aerator pump from Walmart for less than $20. You'll then need to get a water bed fill kit (those blue attatchments), $5. Hose will cost a few extra bucks, and you can probably find a cigarette lighter and wire around your house. |

one time our pump broke at the lake so we filled up the sacs at the gas station with a water hose. probably not good for the trailer but it was only a short distance. when we were through we just pulled the boat out, pulled the plug and drained them in the boat. |

The Attwood 750 mentioned above is the EXACT same pump that some ballast mfgs sell. I've bought a few from WalMart and with hose, fittings, etc,, you can come out about half price. Make sure you get the aerator pump with threaded fittings on bottom and side, not the one with a basket strainer type base. |

you can get the waterbed stuff at walmart, its back in the bedding department. Unfortunately you have to buy the whole kit instead of just the nozzle. the kit is about 5 bucks. |

I have heard that the Attwood pumps are hard to use when emptying the sacks. Are they reversible? Any help would be appreciated-

I don't believe they are reversable but I am not sure. You could get two one set up for filling and one set up for emptying. |
