they are called "air" tricks and yes they can be done. But, for some reason, they have kind of a gay stigma to them. Kind of like a fashion air.
there are air air raleys, air rolls, air whirly birds (go by a different name though), and all other sorts of tricks. I have only seen someone do an air back roll. Looks pretty cool. They cut one way, then back the other and loaded the hell out of the line, popped up and did an invert. |

| I have a friend that can does them, how in the hell are they considered "gay"? thats hard as hell to load the line and go inverted and land with no wake, it is just sic when he does them, Parks does em' - makes it look easy..... I wouldn't say gay, just about anyone can invert off a wake? not many can do it in the flats |

I definitely wouldn't call them gay. Especially those S-bend 313 and triple s-bends (Hey wakegurl, has Rob landed one before, I think he attempted it at TSR last year). Of course these tricks are at the cable, I'm unsure if anyone can do it behind just a boat, besides the Air Rolls, Air Raley, and Tweety Bird (Air Whirly Bird i think) _________________ Behind the boat house, I'll show you my DOCK SECRET

Just to clear this up, I didn't call them gay. That is just the feeling I get when poeple talk about them or do them. they definately seem hard as hell and look like they take a lot of line control, timing, and skill.
But, the only person I know that can do them thinks that they are kind of lame and doesn't do them that much because of that reason. |

| back in the day i had the chane to ride with jacob koncak and he was doing air mobes. i for one think that air tricks should stay on the cable but if you want to do them it's your choice. |

People call them gay, becuase they look alot like tricksking tricks. (I'm not calling them gay).
but the ones I know can be done behind a boat are: Air Roll, Air Roll to revert, Belair (tantrum), Scarecrow, Tweety Bird (whirly), Belair to blind, Air Mobe, Switch air mobe, Air Mobe 5, Air frontflip. _________________ ODPC |

| ooo ok, then i am definitly not sure, i dont think i have ever seen him attempt that at Rixen, but i may have not been there when he did, but i dont think i have ever seen him try it, i think it would be easier for him to land it there becasue i heard TSR's cabel is alot better and it pulls ya up more, and with that combined with the air he already can get, would probably make it easier to land it there, thats just my opinion though...would the "no wake" inverts be the same behind boat as they are on cable Derrick? |

| wakegirl- they'd probably be the same basic principle but harder cause the rope isn't as high. i think i'd probably be able to do an air air ralley behind the boat but i don't really have any desire to do it. |

i don't like the way they look to much behind a boat, they look all right on cable. I understand they are hard, but they don't have much style. Its like trick skiing its hard, but it is just ugly to watch _________________ ow thats gonna hurt tomorrow

Well, I saw a good couple of air tricks with the video that came with my Jobe wakeboard... They were made by Gerry Nunn, and they DEFINITELY had lots of style! _________________ Now even tough I know there's NO one in here that lives anywhere near Montréal, if you ever feel like riding, just pm/e-mail/msn/whatever else me |

dope...
I hate that term for cool
anyways, yeah air tricks are cool variations in your run. I think I'll try and learn an air roll or something _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.

They are not "Air" tricks when they are done on a cable. That is simply cable wakeboarding. Air tricks are done behind the BOAT, outside the wake. BTW, they were cool like 4 years ago, now they are pretty much considered gay. Yep, that's right, I said they're gay. So are fashion airs, yet I still find myself pulling a fashion every once in awhile. I guess they are fun for a little variety every once in a great while.
Lip tricks on the other hand are "dope".
Later... |

Its wasn't really considered "cool" years ago, just a trick that could score you lots of points in a contest. Because back then contests had 4 w2w tricks per pass, and you could do as many tricks outside the wake as you wanted, so you could really bump up your score. _________________ ODPC |

Hey, I didn't say they were gay, but like today "air" tricks have never been the "cool" trick to do. I was just making an observation. It was a way of bumbing up your score. But I think air tricks are a good variation to have in your run.
Mr Wonka. Air roll to blind, thats pretty tuff, did you do it in the flats or off the lip? _________________ ODPC |

how would you go about pulling an air roll? I haven't seen any tips on this one... _________________ The consciousness of self is the greatest hindrance to the proper execution of all physical action.
