i got all these from the orlando watersports complex.
Btw a cable is used instead of a boat. Your attach your rope to the cable and it will pull you across the water and over obstacles like kickers and rails. I havent ever been to one but im going to owc in florida in march it looks pretty sweet. Check one out. _________________ Ontario Rider

Sorry about the size of the pics still getting to grips with photoshop.
That pic of the OWC wow, my local cable can't get as high as that cos i think that is the special wakeboard cable, which is higher. Only london (Princess) has one of those. _________________ A bad day at the lake is better than a good day at work. |

can imagine that all you guys want to know what a cable park is about.
I live in germany, we have 40!!!! of these parks here, I startet at park, but believe me it`s not half of the fun of riding behind a boat!
First of all it is more Duathlon (swimming and running) than wakeboarding, sorry there is another discipline:standing hours in row(like in Disneyland)thats how it works here! you can jump high by increasing the tension of the rope and than suddenly reload the tension!
I prefer the pop of the wake!Cable riding let me think of a merry go round!Cable is good to try some sliders and kickers, in most of the parks they have that stuff!
-all in all it is just my opinion, some like it very much-it is just a matter of taste!

The best thing about cable parks is the obstacles and you can go by yourself if nobody else wants to ride. However they will make you feel silly and like a newby all over again learning how to get air and even do the simplest tricks.I went to TSR for the first time on a cable and i was worn out after 2.5 hrs and never figured out how to get good edge and air..It was fun charging the sliders and kickers..I wish there was one closer to me so i can practice... _________________ "Thanks for Play'n"

I agree with wes, it sucks when you fall on the slider at the far corner at TSR. It seems like you walk forever.... Other than that it is very fun, I was worn out after about 2 hours or so. I plan to go some more once it warms up a little. _________________ "What do you mean you're done for the night...Insomnia doesn't even open until 4. | i went to cables for the first time the other day. it doesn't compare to riding behind a boat, but it's still heaps of fun. the place i went to has a train thing with carriages which cirlces the lake so if your lucky you get a ride back to the dock when you fall off! |

I think the easiest way to describe a cable park is it is like those old T bars they used to have at the ski slopes, it is just a T bar on the water. You go around in circle, usually have to hit obstacles switch, and then you hate to try anything new because then you have to walk 10 miles to get back to the start spot. It is better then nothing though. _________________ Check out https://www.facebook.com/darcizzleoffshore |

Yea if you fall in that corner with the rainbow slider at TSR it sucks big ones walking back but also swimming with a drysuit on.Also they are making you take your fins off if you hit the kickers and also they want you to wear a USCG aprroved vest even if you have a drysuit on ..Thats to much bulk to swim fast and get out of the way of other riders or loose rope..It was fun but it doesnt beat the boat ..
BTW i could ride left foot foward with no problems but didnt get much air ..Next time im hitting the corners hard ,they said not too but i saw alot of the good riders ripping through the corners so i will also, thats where the air is at i bet _________________ "Thanks for Play'n"

| hey bill just a little hint. don't "rip" into the corners until the carrier goes around the turn. i work at tsr and i've seen people that don't listen come real close to wrecking themselves bad. by doing so your getting a bigger whip effect and if you let go or the rope releases you could end up landing on the shore( the land not water). |

You`re absolutly right, Bill!!!
We also have a Wakeboard-Forum here in germany, with about 90% Cableboarders(as i mentionend we have ca.40 cable-parks here in germany!!!!!). Once i tried to explain these guys-in the same way you did-that they are no Wakeboarders. They were exited like chicken with a fox in their chicken-house!
These guys like to talk about the latest wakeboard-fashion, while standing the whole day in a row waiting to be pulled by a centrifuge for big kids!
Sorry about that slandering, but makes me feel better!

| I love to ride behind the boat the most. But during the summer I ride at OWC at least 3 times a week. I like hitting all the sliders they have. If I had sliders out on my lake I'd definetly ride behind the boat more. I go at about noon during the week and there are pretty much no lines. |

| I was just wondering how you get air on these cables. As far as i can see, do you edge out and swing away from the cable and just kind of swing out and up like a pendulum. I've never been to one of these parks as you can probably tell, so enlighten me. Thanks |
