I have heard many different theories on what role different rope lengths play. I have not been riding too long, but it seems to me that if I am going to go hard, the easiest lenth to jump on is the farthest out (65') on mine. and I know that the common answer would probably be that it is because I land out in the flats on shorter ropes but that really isn't the case. Its harder to land even the simplest jumps on shorter ropes for me. Please just let me know what some of you guys prefered rope lengths are and the level rider you are.

I ride 75 and can ride further back if need be. Ride what feels best to you.

it depends on the rider and of course the boat. some of the i/o's i have ridden behind have crappy wake any further than 65' back. that is unless you go faster than i really care to.

I used to ride shorter at 55, and just recently started riding at 65. It helped my riding alot, but I would suggest just experimenting with it to find out what suits you and your boat's wake.

we ride bout 55ft cause the wake washes out on my i/o anywhere past 55. gonna try to go with more weight in it to get the wake better further back. all i do is get the wake like i want it and run the rope out to the best point, don't know of any other way to do it. would love to say that i run it out to 80 and go ball to the walls but i'm just a poor boy with an i/o, Embarassed

I'm on the same page as lowflyer, my wake totally washes out out 65, so I ride at 60. Just get a length that makes you hit where the wake is best.

I used to ride at 75, which is pretty standard but couldn't clear the wake easily. I have a wide boat, so I'm now riding at 50 and have no prob.
