Just for fun today I called the Oregon State Marine Board. I wanted to find out how much trouble it is to get permision to place a slider or kicker on a lake. I fully expected some grumpy old dick to stonewall my efforts. Instead I was actually surprised to speak to a very helpfull woman.
I found out that its really not that hard to get permits. She told me that basically all I needed to do was to fill out the permit aplication for each lake that i wanted permits for, and provide the names and addresses of adjacent landowners to the proposed location. the board contacts the landowners and if there is no concerns from them it normally gets approved. the permits are normally issued for one year and if there are no complaints then they are renewed for three years.
I had her send me two applications. I'll keep you posted on how it goes. It would reallly be sweet to have our hits on the water and not get hasseled constantly. |
