is the trick to doing a 360 using the handle to pull your self around ?

cuz i can do a 360 on a snowboard so having the advantage of being able to pull on the rope makes it seem easyer then snowboarding. and i can do w2w jumps ...

using the handle will help spin you. making the handle pass helps spin you around.

when your in the air pull the handle to your back hip, this will start your rotation. when you make the handle pass your spin will finish for you

so do you not need to manually twist your body at all, is it all in how you use the rope?

the key for me to land this trick was to wait to spin until you are in the air then I pull the handle to my front hip and place it in the small of my back to grab it with my other hand. The rotation will just come. You don't even need to cut super hard for this trick.

A good way to learn the handle pass is by kneeboarding and doing surface 180's and stuff on them , just make sure you learn forward if your riding backwards Smile

you do have to start the spin with momentum right when your going oiff the wake, its not ALL in the handle, is it?

I'm also having troubles with my 360's. When i try to hit the wake and then try to pull the handle in to my back after im in the air, it feels right but i can never get the full rotation, but when i pull the handle in close before i go off the wake and just spin the board on my own, i at least get the rotation, but it doesnt feel right, what should i do?

Here - check out this sequence. It may help you invision where your body should be throughout the trick. Notice that I'm not rotating until I'm already off the wake. Once you're in the air, pull the handle to your outside hip. Keep the handle close to your body as you rotate. Once you pass the handle, the momentum will whip your board around straight. I try to land with my arms slightly bent, but tense - so I can adjust however nessesary to stay balanced and keep the handle.
Practice your handle pass with a rope tied high up in a tree. You'll feel like a dork doing it, but it really does help a lot.
Good luck.

Buergday,

That pic really helps in showing your body position on a 360. That should really help a lot of people out. nice job.

I finally landed one of these yesterday, i really focused on taking a less aggressive approach to the wake. think heelside 180...then handle pass and it will naturally rotate you 360 degrees. Also, it helped pointing the nose of my board up a little on takeoff...i notice alot of pros do that especially late threes. I just need to get these consistent now. I can get the handle pass and do the full rotation everytime, its just that most the time i land with the board behind my body slightly and my weight forward and i do a faceplant... not good.
