depends on what kind of boat you have, but some place that doesn't get wet _________________ Theres a fine line between bravery and stupidity-Johnny Knoxville
Best place is in the storage compartment behind the observer's seat, if you can. Mount it up on the wall, away from the floor.
I ran into a snag with my second amp so I put it up under the driver's footwell area. I made a bracket out of 2 pieces of L angle aluminum and thru bolted a piece of 3/4 inch marine plywood vertically between the two Ls. I then screwed the Ls down with the plywood bolted in. I painted the wood black and made a support off the backside out of aluminum as well.
This worked great for me since the area in my observer's storage area wasn't large enough to hold the two amps on the wall.
I've got an Avalanche and the driver's footwell is a molded piece that has a big kickup as a footrest, about 2 feet high. I mounted the amp on the top of the kickup so you can't see it unless you are lying on the boat floor, but it still gets adequate ventilation.
