I have the highbacks. Regarding fit, etc., you will have to demo. I happen to like them. Regarding quality I had two of the overlays rip on me. One I think was my fault b/c I tried to adjust it but probably did not tighten the screws properly. The second was the wrap and was not my fault, it just ripped. I would say it ripped after approx. 3 months of riding fairly often, probably equal to a season up north. Luckily, Tommys Shop in S. FL is an awesome shop and they fixed them both times right away, no question. Hyperlite is also known for backing up their products.

I'm sure you'll love them. All bindings will get torn up after heavy use.

I've used mine consistantly since last summer. I haven't had problems until the other day when one of the heel cushions underneath the binding popped out on a backroll attempt. I'll just throw it back on with some superglue and it'll be fine.

I dont know what year your talking about, but I just got the 03's and I absolutely love em. I've owned 02 Highbacks and 03 Ultras and these are by far the better boot. Easy on and off, super lock down with the new option 2 strap and really comfortable. CHeck em out!!

I totally agree azwakin. I also have the '03 highbacks. Very solid, strong, comfortable bindings and also really easy to get on and off Very Happy .

I'm not a fan of Hyperlite's bindings whatsoever, but those Highbacks (above) were uber-comfy. I loved em. That was before they started building them out of cardboard.

mdshoes, those highbacks look old. Nothing like the 03's that I have. I would say those are not very good bindings, foot bed looks thin and does not seem to offer much support. Highbacks have come a long way since those.

apple101, any basis for such a comment? some people don't like the byerlys. I demoed extensively the parks, byerlys and highbacks and found the highbacks to be my favorite. the most expensive binding is not necessarily better, or better for that person.

I have a pair of 02's and the heel fell out of one of them and sunk to the bottom of the Chesapeak.. I called the board shop there and Hyperlight overnighted 2 new ones to me for just the cost of overnight shipping $6.00 if I remember correctly.. Other then that they are sweet..
