City: Changing to Chatanooga soon

Moving to Chatanooga soon.

I'm an ex-competitive Kneeboarder. Yes, I'm old. No laughing that's all we had back in the day.

Anyway, my son who is 10 years old right now is dying to follow in Dad's footsteps, but he wants to wakeboard. Of course.

I'm thinking of buying a 2001 x9 mastercraft cause a MC dealer sponsered me back when and I still feel the loyalty.

Questions are this. (and yes, I used the search function)

What are your opinions around the best board for a 10 year old (80 lbs), very athletic, extremely coordinated, and already knows how to kneeboard and ski.

Is there anyone in the Chatanooga area that wants to make a few bucks showing my son the basics? I have no idea how to wakeboard, although many of the rhythms and rope pulls are the same.

OK, third question, any abnormalities or things I should know about the 2001 x9?

Thanks

The X-9 is a great overall boat for wakeboarding. I know there are a lot of people that will tell you to go X or Y because it's better, but you have picked out a great boat overall. I also admire the loyalty aspect of purchseing it from a dealer that has supported you in the past. You will be very pleased with the X-9 and it will be able to accomadate the added wieght that will help your son as he progresses.
As far as boards go, there are a lot of GREAT boards out there I would suggest:
Liquid force trip 128- an excellent board that can every level of rider can appreaciate. It has everything that can help you to grow and last with out being old technology.
Hyperlite Belmont 131- Same as above. Good pop, great to learn on and still advancement comes with ease
Board preference is very unique to the rider, but I think these 2 boards are excellent for the smaller rider to learn on and the board can grow with them. Hope this helped some.
