After MANY wipeouts and sore body parts, I finally landed a BS HS 360. My first 3 of any kind. I did cheat by wrapping the rope. Now on to the handle pass. It's right there. I quit trying blind 180's and went to the 3 because it seemed easier.
Just wanted to share. I was psyched. _________________ Sam I Am |

I personally think it's easier to do 3's with a handle-pass rather than wrapped up... I always seems to get too much slack in the rope if I wrap the trick.
Try bringing your knees up under you and passing the handle at your butt... that makes it real easy to do a late grab on BS 3's. After you pass the handle the board is just right there to grab. _________________ Jason

I'm working on BS 3's right now. I can make the first pass but get to far out the back to squat out the landing and make the pass to my lead hand. I just need to take it bigger and get that second pass before the landing. _________________ Ride harder...

anti-shoobies, try them from in to out. Less tension on the rope.
Another great way is have the driver take a slight angle with the boat so you are cutting towards the inside of his turn. ie If you are coming in for your 3 left foot forward, have the driver do a slight left arc. It kills any rope tention you may have, This is a great method for learning anything, especially a blind landing trick. By slight, I mean right before the point of the wake washing over.
I learned most all my spins this way, as well as some invert to blinds. It takes away the slingshot-rope pull-smack the back of your head on the water approach. _________________ Man, that John Denver is full of shitt. |

Thanks for the tips. I tried inside out, but just went wake to wake for more time. Seemed to work. Almost got the pass down now. It's just one more thing to think about. If I start wrapped, the spin happens on it's own. Making the pass, I have to PULL the handle to initiate the spin and get excess slack for the landing. It WILL happen before the end of the season, as well as switch. _________________ Sam I Am |
