natural dreads r pretty sweet on guys, but on chicks they're just gross. i prefer my chicks to be clean and groomed. natural dreads r the opposite of that. it's way different for guys b/c we're just naturally dirty

I found dread kits at Hot Topic in a mall and they probably would come with special shampoo, the kits like $35 though Shocked

Ok, just for the record, I know they make products to keep a certain amount of hygene with dreds, however, that is far from being clean, and non-stinky. The dreds are held together by the oil in your hair mixing with dead skin off your scalp to form the matting. The products reduce the stripping of the oil, and sanitize your scalp as to avoid several common infections. But, it is far from what I would think most of you would consider clean. It does reduce infections and keeps a certain amount of hygene therefore reduces odor that way, but dont think your going to walk around with these bad ace dreds and maintain that fresh Pantene smell.

taylor: u can get them professionally done. it depends who u go to,b ut they usually do a good job. sometimes u get a crappy job and it sucks.

IF you take care of em and don't put any nasty bees wax, toothpaste or other such crap in your hair and maintain them they can come out nice... it just takes a while.

If only I wasn't in Corperate America I would grow em' for sure!

I have pretty long hair and have done the braids dreds, but not the whole honey and glue ordeal, I think thats gross, just look at what you are putting in your hair....get conrolls or something if you want the dred look, personally id stay away from the honey
