v drive and d drive??? whats the benfits?

Hey wake boy,
Check out a v-drive someday. You can easily put all the ballast you want in and keep it out of the way and still have room for your shizzle.

Sacs either side of the motor, as big a sac as you can fit in the floor & some lead under the bow seats. Most boats don't require more than that.

Some of the correspondents here are overlooking the fact that some D-Drives are open-bow (M/Craft 205 for example). This makes siting of the front sac much easier and puts weight right up front rather than either side of the engine. Mid 90's M/C's are better than Nautiques in this regard (certainly until the last year or so) as they are truly walk thro' with a level floor throughout. The Nautique open-bow used to have a raised floor and you had to step over the screen. Not ideal and that's why they've changed the design.

For anyone who wants to ski and board (some do) an open-bow DD is a good and reasonably convenient option with many of the features of both styles of boat.

Wakeboy, don't be a douche buddy. You don't put anythink in the back on each side of the engine, that is where the weight goes. There are other ski lockers. And as for the front you put two 300 pound side sacks under the front seats in the desegnated weighting locker. Not to hard, pull you head out of your vagina and think about things.

That's completely fine if you have never been in one. But if you haven't, don't talk about what you do not know. You said they have to go on the floor anyway, when they don't. No offense man, i was kinda pissed off when I threw that up. I've got no problem with you. Looking back I see that you were sort of in a way asking where else they can go, and not directly stating that there was no place for them. So it's all good.

A v-drive has a sweet rear deck, there is no denying that, and the women on the back can't be beaten. I have a malibu skier d-drive and it throws a sweet wake, especially with a wedge. Raise the wedge and you have a great slalom wake. But yeah the seating arrangement is not the best. If your going for seating then go for the v-drive. Both can throw the same wake, and the handling is not always the most important factor for wakeboarders, but for me it is and the d-drive does handle better. Oh and look at monster towers they kick ass.

How much weight do you need - everyone uses it to compenstate for a lack of skill. We have a DD 1999 Air Nautique and do not need sacks on the floor. We use the factory tanks in the back (400lb) and a tube sack in the ski locker (375lb). Add 600 - 900 lbs of people and we're throwing a sick wake. If you needed to add more we could put several hundred more lbs in the trunk.

Regarding the DD vs VD debate I agree that if you'd going to have a ton of people that the seating in a VD is ideal, however, you can't beat the comfort of the observers seat with the engine comparentment as a foot rest...

Regarding the posting about buying a boat. Shop around and bargain hard as they are some great deals to be had out there.
