jjaszkow, you gotta ask the employees/manager at the stores when they are getting a shipment. Then show up extra early that day....

I saw 2 Wii consoles this weekend at a Game stop in the mall.
As a matter of fact every time I've walked by that store , there's are at least 1 console in the window.

The Gamestops here have tons of empty boxes.....

Looks like the Wii outsold the PS3 6 to 1 in Japan in the month of June and outsold the XBox 17 to 1. Nintendo is also saying they will not have completely caught up to demand until the middle of '08. That doesn't mean there will be shortages until then, just that there will be times when stores will not have them in stock.

. Last week, the Tuesday shipment lasted until 2 hours before we arrived on Sunday. It's the summer anyway, so we are in no hurry to get one. Would rather be outside.... and several of our friends have them, so we've played Wii plenty anyway.

jjaszkow, That's why I said they only put up what they have available. I haven't seen this store with a big display of Wii boxes at all.

My cabana boy just told me that Walmarts in the greater Houston area have them available....I found that surprising.

Dragonlady8, I am not certain if the Walmart one is the best deal after doing the math.
Wii = $250
Extra controller + nunchuk = ~$50
Big Brain academy = $50 (not sure if I'd buy this title)
Which leaves me $188 for 3 games. Aren't most Wii games $50?

I'm a big fan of borrowing or renting games before buying them, or hitting E-bay. This way I don't get something that I don't enjoy playing.

Got drunk at all the winery's and somehow ended up at wal-mart at 9pm in Fredriksberg...and low and behold they only had 2 left...and I bought one and two remotes.

*note to self...don't got to wal-mart drunk.... Laughing

Not online yet....but I love the tennis game. My girl loves the boxing game.

jjaszkow, There are a total of 7 extras items in additon to the console for that cost. I'm sure you can probably shop around to find better deals.
Walmart has some games that are 1/2 off the original price......I'm sure they aren't the one in demand.

Dragonlady8, just curious, but what was the 7th extra item? I'm pretty happy with the Wii ... not sure what games other than Wii Play and Wii Sports I'll be getting. I'll probably get Guitar Hero III and Wii Fit when they come out.

Dpierce37, you guys have to try Wario Ware Smooth Moves. My wife loves that one.

Zelda is great if you like the series and problem solving type games. If you don't want to put much thought into it you will get stuck pretty quickly.
