Impressive. Most Impressive.

I think I would have used that space for ballast though. On my friends '01 x-star we through a 500# sack in the middle there on top of the stock ballast and it's perfect.

P hat in Cincy, wow, I can see why you don't need the extra ballast space. That's a great setup. Got the best of both worlds there. I really like how you replaced the cupholders you took out. Good thinking. I had actually looked at that before, I just didn't put 2 and 2 together.

Probably one of the most bitchin setups I have ever seen for a tow rig and boat man.

Thanks for the compliments. We found ourselves a diamond in the rough (no tower, etc...) when we came across the 205V. Haven't looked back since.

Yep...needed to replace the lost cupholders. Usually can't have enough of them!

I promise...it's all coincidence b/w the color scheme of the boat and your OSU icon! Wink

Nice job, looks clean and thats very important. Especially on a newer boat like that, the clean look is a must. Im sure it sounds good too.

in no way could i ever do this, because i dont have the money or a boat, but i would go with a more expensive 10 inch sub. like a w7 or a type x. it would slam, and you could port the box

I almost pulled the trigger on a 12" solobaric for the project, but I couldn't justify it since I bought this one about 1yr earlier. So, I just transferred the sub knowing that I could modify the opening for a solobaric in the future if I wanted.

ramseyglastron...I don't know if your comment was meant as 'never would' or 'never could', but it's probably under $200 for the entire project. Heck...maybe more like $150...and that's with the sub...but not the amp.

I like the sub you have there. I just had the Solobaric and thought what the hell, I'll stick it in the boat and see how it bumps and it sounds good so I left it. I need to build a custom box for it though. Right now its just in a regular Kicker ported box for a vehicle. It works though and they say if it works, don't fix it.

w7's in a boat IMOare unnecessary. Please note the IMO i dont want to start an argument on here about subwoofers. My buddy had 2 W7s in his truck and after being in it for a while my stomach started to hurt, and the dirt from the underbody of the trucks starts to come off because of the crazy amounts of vibration. I feel that a boat doesnt need as much base from a sub because it is so open air that you feel and experience the sound of base much more in a boat than in a car with less watts.

Just my opinion. P-hat as alway, outstanding job on another DIY project

Yea I agree with you wakeboardinkid2k4, the w7's do hit extremely hard. Hell just one of em hits really hard with the right amp and in a boat, you dont have to have as much sub. Just think, the boat is fibergalss in most cases with wake boats. Its like one big ass speaker box itself so its gonna thump alot harder. But the w7's are pretty mean subs wherever they are car or boat.

I knew I needed to dress up the sub a little...well, at least for darker conditions. I saw these waterproof flexible LED strips on ebay and in threads and thought they'd be cool. Here's the result. I just need to wire it in to the accessory switch.

It's my first try at LED and I don't really plan on doing much more of it, but I thought it'd look good in this area.

Take care!

These particular LEDs just wire directly into a 12V source. There is no transformer or anything. I had an unused accessory switch and I wired it directly to it last night. Works like a charm and lets me turn on the LED's w/o haveing to turn on any other cabin or navigation lights. I almost forgot that my dash lights are red too, so it blends nicely!
