Criminally minded: I agree with you. I should have clarified that I believe there are "real" bands out there (maroon 5, for example), but most of what gets sold to the radio is very contrived.

King of Tigers:

I love the Blink 182 video where they sing about not wasting their lives by conforming to society, but the band is all doing the same dance and all their fans are shaving their heads and dressing all "punk." What they don't get, (or may be i"m not giving them credit for being ironic) is that the ARE conforming, by conforming to the "noncomformist standard." How's that for an oxymoron?

yea, it's like "everyone, look at me! I'm so different! I even wear my clothes exactly the way everyone else who is different does!" I think just being yourself is different enough. It's like you are the non-comformist if you just act regular, because everyone else is going out of their way to be special.

i actually can't help but feel bad for avril...she is just a pawn to the record companies who whore her out to make some dollars...i said it six months ago that she reminds me of vanilla ice...she'll have one popular album...and then everyone will figure out she's a poser...and there will be a huge backlash...it makes me sad since she is really kinda hot

Also, if she is kind of mean during interviews, doesn't that make her less of a sell out? If she acted all fake and sucked up to fans, etc...
