| Physics explains why a helmet will more likely worsen the concussion problem while wakeboarding. A cuncussion is caused by the sudden stop of your head and your brain slamming into your skull, kinda like a person in a car slamming into the steering wheel or windshield. This sudden stop is caused by the surface area of your fat head hitting the water. Putting a helmet on only increases this surface area and causes your head to stop that much quicker. This only refers to riding the wake and not solid objects. Solid objects will crack your dome which can be bad, so it's a good idea to wear when hitting rails, kickers, and funboxes. |
