What did you think? Of the UF-13.
Crazy Sat. Looks like it is going to be a wild year for the playoffs.
Ducks are in trouble. Didn't look good againt Colorado. Hard to belive they are this bad at Qb. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

REALLY GOOD, still smoking it.
The Ducks need to worry more about their D... Surprised their running game isn't better. That said, I think Colorado is better this year and Oregon won by a respectable score. Have they lost more guys on D, didn't appear to look this bad against MSU....but I just watched bits and pieces? |

The second half of the CU game is the first run heavy play calling all year.
The secondary is really bad, chock full of 4 star recruits too. _________________ Is President Obama a Keynesian? |

I think we might see him starting a trend of kids doing this that are either:
1) talented enough to actually pull this off; or,
2) not talented enough and will kill their draft value.
In Jack's case, he apparently has an insurance policy guaranteeing him 5 million if he falls out of round 1, so he really can't lose either way. _________________

goofyboy, I hate to say it, but if I was Fournette I would absolutely quit school, get hooked up with the best agent possible (that might be an oxymoron), and workout off the field to prepare for the 2017 draft with a fat insurance policy behind me just in case.
Fournette is definitely category #1 of those. Kid is playing a completely different game than everyone else, and CFB can only hurt him from here. Sorry LSU fans... _________________

Yep. I agree. After what happened to that kid from South Carolina, I would rather see more of these guys quit. It's a dumb policy for the NFL to have. If they are good enough to play, let them play. Take a chance on them. As a player, I wouldn't want to risk my health not getting paid, especially when we are talking millions. It's just not worth it. _________________ Work SUX! |

just because it isn't perfect and exceptions like fournette or jack, doesn't mean there's not good reason for it. remember how many hs busts the nba had before their rule? it's good business for the nfl to maximize the talent potential w/ an age requirement. |

It's a chance the NFL teams take and a chance the player takes. No one is saying a guy has to leave. I would argue Vince Young should have stayed another year working on his throwing. I would say Ricky didn't need to stay for his senior year, but he wanted to break the record and go for the Heisman. _________________ Work SUX! |

College Game Day here, feeling pretty confident about a Utah win.
Speaking of CGD, set up in Presidents Circle, which is across the street from the Little Man's house. I went by last night before hockey practice, kids were dragging up signs/props to wait in line to get into the pit.

That was a great game. Texas finally quit beating themselves and played a clean game. I'm digging this line up and run the ball until we run you off the field. Also, lining up Swoopes three straight times with the same play and it worked. Fun day! _________________ Work SUX! |

+1 on all that.
Cutty Sark needs to get right. He won't and shouldn't be back. Dude needs to straighten his **** out and go take a coordinator job somewhere. _________________

jt09, I think $C can be too influenced by boosters - meaning Haden should NEVER have hired Sark, he should have offered the job to Ed Orgeron, but was likely pressured to hire Sark.
So yeah, you are probably right. _________________

not sure orgeron is the right guy to lead a major program, much less a true destination gig like usc. i know he did well w/ the interim tab and the players loved him, but he's a shady redneck/coonass.

it's huge. starting qb w/ a current stat line of 106/161 (.658) for 200ypg, 10td, 3int. not a big runner, but is their 2nd leading rusher w/ 116yd on 36c w/ 2td. |

Here is a statement from USC athletic director Pat Haden:
"After careful consideration of what is in the best interest of the university and our student-athletes, I have made the decision to terminate Steve Sarkisian, effective immediately.
"I want to thank Clay Helton for stepping into the interim head coach role, and I want to add how proud I am of our coaching staff and players and the way they are responding to this difficult situation.
"Through all of this we remain concerned for Steve and hope that it will give him the opportunity to focus on his personal well being."

Alcoholism(substance abuse) is covered under the ADA. Guess we'll see, but my guess is he's going to get a substantial settlement. |

firing someone because they are a drunk is covered under the ada. firing someone for coming to work drunk is not.

Yes, if the conduct rule is job-related and consistent with business necessity and other employees are held to the same standard. The ADA does not protect employees from the consequences of violating conduct requirements even where the conduct is caused by the disability. |
