jryoung, Directv is stating that the contract with Fox is up and that Fox wants a 40% increase. It's just like the NFL and NBA lockouts. Both sides are being greedy and they need to reach an agreement or we will suffer.

jt09, Thats deep. I didn't see it going there but now that you mention it that does make sense.

Haven't watched this week's episode yet, but I wonder if Bobby might take Clay out.

Keith McKee (Belfast chapter) I believe was the third that Clay killed by pushing him off a roof.

ah yes...i had put that whole stupid storyline out of my head.

although - i did think of it last night when jax told tara "i'd NEVER let that happen" when she was worried about the kids being in danger. i was like...hey, jackass, quite recently, your kid got kidnapped and stolen off to the other side of the world!

DAMN!!!

Spoiler alert

I did some looking and there will be a season 5. FX renewed for a 5th season last Monday. After watching last nights episode I really thought the end of the series was coming but apparently not. Not really sure where else they can go but I'm excited to find out.

I am far too emotionally invested in this f'n show. Clay needs to go, but I don't see how if they are going several more seasons.

jt09, Where did you see 7 seasons? All I can find is that they renewed for a 5th season of 13 episodes. There is nothing mentioned beyond that anywhere I have looked.

My understanding was the Kurt Sutter planned to write it for 7 seasons, but the network renews it anually. Since the show keeps becoming more popular, I would think that FX would be foolish to drop the show before the story is done.

Not sure if there will be any Sons left by season 7 the way they've been killed off this season though.

intotheflats, from another thread on soa on a different board. no link to confirm, so take it fwiw...

here was the exchange:

first guy wrote:
Is this show slated for another season? Don't see how much longer it can last with all the shlt that's gone down

second guy wrote:
3 more actually (although, like you, i have no idea how it can continue to keep going after what has been a pretty apocalyptic season).

third guy wrote:
Just got signed on for two more after next season. Sutter has said he sees it going 7 years.

Interesting. I agree with them that I really don't see how they can squeeze 3 more seasons out. I really didn't expect there to be a 5th season after some of the stuff that has gone down this season. It'll be interesting to see where the show goes in season 5. I see a few options

1. Jax stays to run the club and attempts to clean it up. Not sure how that would work because them running a clean club wouldn't make for good TV and they certainly couldn't get 3 more seasons out of that.

2. Jax does move to Oregon and starts a different chapter of the club but still keeps certain ties to the original club in Cali.

Clay is obviously not dead, of they wanted a kill it would have been a headshot. Not to mention his gun was not horizontal; hence not a kill shot

Or Tara decides to dive into the club to make things better once clay is out of the picture.

dbismyname, When they showed the preview of next weeks episode I got the impression that Clay was dead because they were talking about who done it and how they would retaliate. Based on that it doesn't mean he is dead but that is the impression I got from it FWIW

i'm torn on whether he is or not. the preview wasn't conclusive at all.

on one hand, it looked like opie only winged clay in the shoulder and jax is screaming for a bambulance, so it's entirely possible he makes it. on the other, if he's alive, there is no reason for tig to be starting a war w/ the niners. clay can just tell them it was opie....although if he tells them it was opie, he has to tell them why opie shot him, and he doesn't want that getting out either...

Damnit, I forgot to set the DVR for this last night. Good thing there's a replay on at 11pm tonight.

vest doesn't cover the shoulder - it lets clay get shot w/o dying. we get our "F*<K YEAH!" moment, the writers keep their bad guy.

I bet at the end of this episode we'll have doubts of whether Clay is dead or not again. I have to go sit through a two hour final exam for a management class right now and all I'm gonna be thinking about is freakin SOA. I've got popcorn and beer on the ready though Very Happy

Wow. Did not see that coming at all.

Also they set themselves up nicely for next season with the hit and run of the biggest gangsta's daughter.

Given the issues with Fast and Furious right now, I really liked that spin lastnight. Curious to see what happens to the letters in the toolbox and if Gemma tries to play Clay back into the club.

i did as well. cia trumping the feds was slick and tied up a lot of issues that would have killed the soa moving forward.

there's got to be a set of copies of those letters. has to be. *MORE copies.
