Rather than continuing to hijack the girls learn to ride thread, I figured it would be best to start a separate one. So far we have interest from me, P-Chick, and Bethany. Since we're all from the west coast I looked into a couple of camps that are out here:
http://www.ensanewakeboarding.com
5 days/6 nights there runs $1235, not sure about group discounts
http://www.westcoastcamps.com
5/6 there runs $1000 right now, but only through Aug 1, not sure about group discounts
The one I've been to is in Central Florida:
http://www.wakeboardcamp.com
5/6 runs $1100, group discount is $25 off per additional person
With any option, we could save money if we knew someone in the area where we could crash at their place and just pay the daily rate.
I've been to TWC twice and I can't wait to go back. |

The only one I know is that Ensane is at Lake Shasta. _________________ "I knew those girls were pros, but don't tell Turtle, it'll break his heart." - Drama, Entourage |

| I'd absolutely love to do that (the one at Shasta would be close), but we bought our boat this season, so I think it may have to wait until next season. |

I'm definitely down for this also and I have 2 other girls who I ride with who I know would love to go also... We're all poor college kids tho so we could only attend somethin on the west coast, unless there was an awesome group discount... couldn't complain about spending some time up at Shasta, haven't been there in over 3 years _________________ reppin' for CBD

| Yeah, that sounds like a great idea. I would have to see if I could come up with the money though, but other then that it sounds like it would be a lot of fun. |

Ensane/Shasta Camp:
Pros: Can save money travel to camp by driving instead of flying. Also save money because we won't need a rental car. Could easily do a weekend or partial week
Cons: Can't vouch for the coaching; group discount a question
West Coast Camp/Lake McClure (Sacramento area):
Pros: See above. Also, reduced prices right now, best deal going.
Cons: Coaching an unknown; only runs through Aug 1
Nick & Julz (Central Florida)
Pros: The Villa, British accents, might be able to work our female thing, can do OWC and visit Phantom
Cons: Coaching an unknown; very spendy; add in plane ticket & rental car; would need a full week
The Wakeboard Camp (Central Florida)
Pros: Coaching is first rate, group & return camper discounts available, may be able to work the female thing, can do OWC and visit Phantom
Cons: Add in plane ticket & rental car, would need a full week
Ride The Spot (Central Florida) Darin Shapiro/Travis Moye
Pros: Good coaching, J*Rock just got back, limited number of campers, can do OWC and visit Phantom
Cons: Add in plane ticket & rental car, would need a full week |

Nick & Julz are the coaches from my understanding......it's their boat. Lot closer to OWC , Airport and Florida Mall. The Heany boys are pretty much the party animals too.
Depending on how many people there are you may just need a small rental to get a round. I have an SUV ( pathfinder).... so I can stuff all your gear into that to get you to and from the airport. |

Premier135Chick, here are the people that work at the camp at McClure, maybe you have heard of some of them:
Mike Schwenne, Jeff Myers, Josh Smith, Kevin Bird, Mikey Ennen, Brad Larkin, Josh Storrer, Steve Whalman, Cody Ramsey, Rich Facciano, Chris Dykmans, Mike McMillin, Derek Conway & more. Lake Mc Clure is near Don Pedro and New Melones if you have ever been to those lakes.
Josh Smith has a wakeboard camp (Nor-Cal Wakeboard Camp) at the delta (orwood). if you wanna stay local maybe you wanna check that out. He was on my boat for the girls gowakin event, and im sure he has other delta locals workin for him _________________ www.TheLiquidPlayground.com

| Nick and Julz live on a good lake too, I ride on that lake all the time. They live in a little cove and the water is always glass. They have lots of sliders and a tramp, it's a nice set up. |

I've been looking into going to a camp in Florida in November, right when it's starting to get cold here in Nor-Cal (probably TWC or Mike's Place...both came highly recommended). |

I'm in Cali too and would love to go go a camp, money of course is an issue (po college student too). But I know my mom's freind who lives 45 mins from Orlando so there is no worry about finding a hotel and I'm sure she would let me use her car too I've heard good things about the camps. I'm down for a weekend roadtrip for riding anywhere in CA, NV or AZ. _________________ This time, like all times, is a very good one if we but know what to do with it. - Ralph Waldo Emerson |

Scotta-I know a lot of those guys whom you mentioned. I also went to Lake MCClure not too long ago. It was a bit of a drive and there was a ton of crap in the water-logs and stuff. I wasn't too impressed witht he lake overall. I wonder if Josh would work out a deal for us ladies? |

If you guys are serious about this, it could be really cool. Are you ladies thinking Sep/Oct so we have time to get some money together? I just checked my US Air account and I could probably get a plane ticket on miles and then we could share a rental car, or if we're going near where one of us lives, that's another way to save $$$.
I'm getting excited about this idea! |

Hey everyone,
I live in the Foster City/San Fran area and would love to go to a clinic on disco bay. I'd like to make it before boardstock Sept 18th.
Has anyone picked a good weekend, or time to go?
I would love for my friends and I to join you.
By the way stay in college as long as you can. I've been working for 5 years now and I am still just as poor as when I was a student, only now I work 60-70 hours a week and have to beg for time off.
Live it up while you can.

Hey Kinky - I agree. Living in CA or FLA must be nice. The only camp that came even close to here was in Detriot this past spring. I'd imaging they spent most of their time dodging ice chunks in the water. _________________ It's not the motion of the ocean, but the size of his wake that matters. |

| Bringing this thread back from the dead because my ACL rehab is going well and I'm starting to think about riding again. I would definitely like to go to a camp again next year. Not sure when, I'll have to see how my knee is feeling, but I'm thinking late summer/early fall when we're all in good riding shape. Anyway, just wanted to get you ladies thinking about a trip to camp so you can start stashing away some money after the holidays. |

| i would ressomend westcoast camps.Premier135Chick, i dont know when you went but i went in july and no water debris and the water was glassy most of the time. it occasionally got blown out but there is this one cove that stays nice all the time. the coaches are good, you stay on a houseboat the full five days. they have a massive collection of wakeboard videos. ummmm the only negative i can think of is that there were no sliders that i saw up there. |

Wake4Life08, The Projects is located out in the middle of NoWhere. I really don't think the Ladies will be ecstatic about playing video games as much as the boys either ( but I could be wrong)
It is a pain driving around that area at night and there is nothing near by for entertainment.
Just my feminine opinion since I've been out there. |
