When you do an S-bend you normaly spin clock wise (goofy) anti clock wise (regular) what if you span anti clock wise goofy would it be called something differant or is it still an S-bend?

i figure it still be an s bend cause they dont call it counter clockwise s bend. im sure getting that rotation is a bitch though going at it goofy.

You've got your S-Bend rotations mixed up, its clockwise for a regular foot and anit-clock for a goofy footer.

NO. If your Goofy foot you would spin clockwise for an s-bend. If you spin COUNTER-clockwise your doing a layed-out roll to revert.

Umm no, a goofy footed sbend would be a counter-clockwise rotation. An sbend is a backside rotation, and to do a backside rotation for a goofy footer he would spin COUNTER-clockwise.

The ONLY way that a goofy-footed rider spins counter-clockwise when doing an s-bend is if YOU are in the boat WATCHING them.

I'm not talking about what way it looks like someone is spinning from different angles. A SBend for a goofy footed rider is phyiscally counter-clockwise. Stand up and act if you were going to do a backside 3 goofy footed. Which way would you spin? COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. And what do sbends and backside 3s have in common? THEY BOTH SPIN THE SAME DIRECTION....So kids what does that tell us? AN SBEND FOR A GOOFY FOOTED RIDER IS COUNTER-CLOCKWISE. Tommorrows lesson is learning the direction regular footers rotate on sbends.

If your standing directly under a person doing an s-bend as they are twirling around on their FEET, can you get a good look at their balls?

A regular backside 360 spin is clockwise.
Lay it out, its still clockwise.
Therefore, a regular s-bend (raley w/ backside 360) is clockwise, yes?????

It doesn't matter if you are in the boat, in an airplane, or at the bottom of the lake, its still a clockwise rotation. So what part of that is confusing?

But hey it would be conter-clockwise if you were driving the boat looking at the rider through the mirror! Maybe thats where all the confusion lies, the believers in the counter-clockwise s-bend are just avid boat drivers!

They dont really specify which way u do the 360 weather its fs or bs but looking back from the boat looking at an s-bend it is opposite to the rider spinning, and every vid ive seen of an s-bend the person has spun clock wise when they were goofy some where on here theres a vid of darin shapiro doing a grabbed vulcan and its switch (goofy) and he spind clock wise even tough from the boat it looks like he spinds anti clock wise

Who are 'they'?

A S-bend is a backside spin. A vulcan is a s-bend with a frontside revert on the way down.

The spin for a blind three is definately counter clockwise. I do blind/backside 3's all the time and my head turn to my left. And i let go with my left hand and pass the rope with my right. Therefore this spin is counter clockwise, as the hands on the clock move to the right. However if you are looking at a person doing an S-bend from the backor side, when they tuck their head under their left armpit, and spin to the left it would look clockwise, even though it is the same direction of spin. Because an s-bend changes the plane of the board, now as a spectator you are seeing the bottom of the board instead of the top. Yet if you are the rider looking straight down at your feet while doing an s-bend it will look exactly like a blind 3 making it counter clockwise. You guys are arguing about two different view points of the spin. A spectator WILL see it diferently than the rider does.

ok I was just rehired--

Raidersftball181- just making sure things are clear, if you ride regular and spin to the left of the line (counter-clockwise), that is a frontside spin. yes? And there is no 'blind' involved on a backside 3.

HERES THE DEAL- A regular backside spin is clockwise. A goofy backside spin is counter-clockwise. Apply this to ANY trick with a backside spin (s-bend, whirlybird, etc...) and you have your spin direction. Like I said the only thing that would change the 'points of view' is seeing it through a mirror to reverse it.

Even if you were behind the rider and he throws a s-bend, it would appear counter from looking at the bottom of his board but the trick itself is still clockwise, if you ask me thats all that matters.

I really dont see how you can think we havent proved you wrong, but oh well I'm tired of trying to get through to you. To answer your original question, if you spin the opposite way of a normal sbend it would just be a layed out backroll which I believe someone already said.

I know you drive on the opposite side of the street as me but surely your clock rotates the same way Very Happy

I drew a picture of a goofy s-bend, please let me know if it clears things up to make me feel better. It is a BACKSIDE spin, hence the rider spins counter-clockwise. The second picture is a regular s-bend, still a backside spin, which makes it a clockwise rotation.

Aight that looks cool... but 1 thing when i see the s-bends done by other goofy people they tuck there head into there right shoulder or arm pit and when i do this rotation i do clockwise and its still a bs spin and it even looks bs thats wat im going off and remember those are the view off the boat not the riders perspective
