i get about eight feet of air each jump. what i do is i bend my knees low in the edge in and i pop them off the "ramp" of the wake. it pretty much springboards you into the air

wakelover11, if an indy 180 is your best trick and you're getting 8 feet of air, then your wake is 7 feet high. Rolling Eyes

I don't know if it's 8 feet, but I got about halfway up that mountain!

I would love to see an open event with a high jump bar.

Run it just like the step-up contest in motorcross, single-ups only, set rope length, you pick the boat distance from the bar and the speed.

It would be nice to have a "record" to qualify the sometimes outrageous claims that folks make.

howabouttheiris, yeah true, but everyone's got those claims. I swear I've seen a kid easily hit 15 ft once off a triple up, but there's no way to really measure it. even with photos it's hard to tell, cause where exactly do you draw the lines at, and you sitill have a little bit of error with the scaling.

Um, you have to actually try to jump higher to jump higher. When you get your eight miles of air, or eight meters or feet or inches or millimeters whatever it was, I'd probably bet like a million dollars that you weren't cutting as hard as you could or popping as quickly as you could. Lean back until your hair touches the water (hs, at least). Even if your bald, lean back until your hair touches the water. Lean all the way through the wake and then pop. As long as your lean was good and the pop was forceful your gonna get more air. All this load and release stuff will come when actually go and try to fly. Most people, myself included, don't do what they're trying to do just because they're afraid. You should come to these forums and ask questions you you've actually tried it. Say the you can't hold onto the handle, should you duct tape it to your face. Say when you jump eight miles in the air, should you take an oxygen tank. Say the board falls off your feet when you get in the air, what should you do. Or, more realistically, say when exactly do you start your pop as you are cutting into the wake. We can tell you that it's probably not a good idea to duct tape a handle. We can tell you that you need a film crew not an oxygen tank if you're getting eight miles of air. We can tell you to get new binding. We can tell you to pop as your front foot goes over the lip of the wake. But we can't tell you how to get big air without cutting hard or what the best board for you is when we have no idea who you are. Well, we can actually, just like I can tell you how to land a double back roll nuclear to blind.

Tantrums off sliders are easier than off the wake, IMO. Go to OWC if you ever get the chance, The yellow ramp makes raley's and tantrums super easy, just edge hard and throw your body back.
