Here is the deal...

I have:
2 6.5" poineers
2 6" kenwoods
1 15" 800 watt sub

What type of amp/s should i get... i plan on putting tower speakers up too.
Also what would be a good amp for 2 12'' subs?

BTW.. here is my cd deck for the boat: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=3023189327&category=1498

I have installed many stereos and repaired many others in boats. I have found that the most bang for your buck for a boat amp is MTX Thunder series. They put out a lot of power, they don't suck a lot of juice, they run cool, and they are bulletproof. As for your speakers you could use a large four channel amp for the highs and tower. Use the rear for the highs and the front for the tower and fade between them. As for the 15" about 500 watts RMS would sound real nice. Watch out using too much power as you will kill the batteries quick and be sitting quiet. Hope this helps, but it's just my opinion.

I really like Lanzar's amps too. Check 'em out - there not overly expensive either. For the sub, 500 watts would sound great, but you could probably get away with a bit less.

Last boat was all Kicker. Never had a problem with them and they rocked. Of course the new boat is all JL Audio but that was up to the stereo shop.

First off i am 16, flat broke after buying a new board, bindings, rope, handle, 15'' sub and box, jensen marine cd deck, 2 12'' subs and box(car), 2 6.5'' poineers, 2 kenwood 6''....

So i cant afford to pay through the ass($4-500) for a single amp. When i am going to need to buy 2 more amps evenutally also(the 2 12"s and all the coaxial speakers throughout my boat and eventually on a tower)

What is the cheapest quality amp i can get for th 15'' sub?

Rockford Fosgate is the best. You can get a 550 watt amp and your sub would quack. As for the other stuff i would get a Rockford Fosgate 330 multi channel and it will be really loud. As for the 2 12's well it depends on what type and how much they can handle. But i would definetely go with Rockford. Here are a few really good internet sites...... www.etronics.com www.cbrstereo.com www.electronic4me.com these are some of the cheapest sites ive found....good luck

The only problem with Rockford Fosgate for a boat is they get Hot!!!!!!! I mean you could fry an egg on them. After a short time they tend to shut down until they cool. In a car you don't play them as hard or as long and they rock out. I've removed many RF amps from boats because of this.

This may or may not help, because I don't have any personal experience with them and don't know if they run hot, but I've heard that Profile amps are pretty good for the money. They obviously won't be the best, but if you're on a budget they might be ok. I'm thinking about running them in the boat and car as I am on a pretty tight budget as well.

theZeb has some nice prices on them and they have free shipping right now, plus they are an autherized dealer if that is important to you. i'm thinking about the California series... http://www.thezeb.com/caraudio/profile.html

Hope that helps a little...later.

try thezeb.com , i like cadence amps, kinda $$ though, i know JBL makes a good cheap 600.1 amp, maybe u could get away with the memphis 5/6 chan amp they make, save a lil room.

the 15 is gonna be up in the bow.. most likely in a single box...

I chose the 15 instead of the 2 12''s so i could save a little room up there. I allready have all my safety equipment and 375lbs of weights

US acoustics amplifiers... First, take a look at the numbers and compare them to all the other brands, they'll hold their own there. Then, take my advice, I believe for your money, you can not find a better amplifier. By the way, I'm a 19yr old that was on a tight budget for my boat stereo also... I researched for about 2 years and went with two US acoustics 4085 amps and couldn't be happier.

Orzech,

I like the Kicker KX800.4 amps. They pump out 200 Watts X 4 channels at 2 ohms all day long and won't overheat. They are also a great value. I get my new Malibu Wakesetter LSV in two weeks and I am planning on building the system like this:

KX800.4 to run the 2 pairs of boat speakers (Image Dynamics components)

KX800.4 to run the modified Skylon Deafcon III with 2 pairs of Image Dynamics components instead of Kicker K-series.

KX800.2 to run dual Infinity Kappa Perfect 10.1d 10" subwoofers

These amps would work in your boat too. You could get by with just one KX800.4 if you double up the boat and tower speakers.

orzech, you can pick these amps up at www.crutchfield.com or check out www.thezeb.com for even better prices. I've worked with thezeb.com many times and they're great to deal with. The versatility of these amps is great too.

I second the US Acoustic Amps. I have the 4X85 one (from Crutchfield for $180) pushing a set of Kicker 6.5" Tower speakers and a set of internal infinity Kappa speakers. They sound incredible.
