What makes it a method and not just a stalefish grab? please help with my corn fusion.

Completely different grabs....
Method is done with the front hand and stalefish is done with the back hand....

It goes like this if im correct

Front hand toeside= mute
Front Hand Hs= melon
Back hand Ts= indy
Back HAnd Hs=Stalefish

so I still confused what makes a grab a method

please noone die from boredom from this thread

Take a melon grab and poke out your back foot so your back is facing the boat like a shifty.... that's a METHOD grab......

Or think about sucking the front knee up and in to the handle...

Turning the board at the wake you just left adds mad style points.....

Also a melon grab is just between the legs but if my memory serves me correctly you can grab a method in front of your lead foot like between your hs edge and nose. Like on Pete Roses or I do it alot on hs fs spins.

all grabs SHOULD be between your feet or on the nose/tail(including method.) unforunately not everyone does this.

crails should be done on the nose. and people who grab slob should either grab mute or nose. those grabs just make you look lazy.

I've never seen any rider grap crail on the nose.

Here is the Wakeboarder.com definition

Crail: Rear hand, front toeside grab, back leg is boned out.

See, its not on the nose it's on the toeside in front of your front foot.

malibuwakeboarding, snowboarders just decided to make a new grab for crail cuz they couldnt reach the nose. plenty of riders do proper crails they just dont know the right names.

malibuwakeboarding, The Headless Chicken, crails are consided acceptable because they are a cross body grab, such as nuclears and seatbelts.

tindy's slobs, nelons, and tailfishes really aren't stylish grabs, and arn't really correct.

how ever, some grabs can be acceptable, slob is argued to be a legit grab, but some dissagree. only applies to spinning and inverts.

tindy however, is considered unacceptable, more so than slob. becuase it's just so easy to reach there (like slob). sometimes looks good, (see danny harf in F4A, his poked tindys off doubleups)

midwest wake, seatbelts are defined as on the tail. nuclears and crails were Bubb Rubb up by snowboarders and their longass noses. i dont care where you grab but not grab between your feet is lazy and looks like crap no matter who you are.

headless, i agree with you on a lot of this topic, however, we do have different opinions just like everyone else.

some people think slob is more stylish than nose, but hate tindy with their life. i personally hate all grabs done in a 'slob' fashion. there are a few acceptions that eveyrone has, like i think a tweaked slob pete rose looks better than a nosegrab pete rose.

o well, to each their own.

The Headless Chicken, we've had this discussion before. Even a poll posted where overwhelmingly people thought grabbing "slob" was more stylish than grabbing mute. Just because it's unacceptable in skateboarding because there's a foot there doesn't mean it's not acceptable in wakeboarding. You can bone/tweek a slob more than a mute and I think mutes just look awkward.

The descriptions of methods seem to be right but I would add that it doesn't have to be between the feet although it's more stylish.

Wakebrad, you can poke a nose grab more than a slob, so whats your point. ill post a pic of a solid mute grab and you try to find a slob grab that looks better. popular opinion rarely reflects the truth of a situation.
deepcove, if you can grab across your body all the way to the nose than you could easily do both. i dont think toe crails look nearly as stylish. it just looks like a misplaced indy.

okay attached is a picture of what a mute should look like. its a mute 180 so dont say its indy. Obviously not every mute will look like this but most slobs arent poked out at all so it evens out. another think this grab isnt stinkbugged which is another of my pet peeves but i wont get into that cuz wakeboarders just wont understand.

ballywho, if everyone on here said 2+3= 7 does that make them right? also youre an idiot for calling out that pic. First of all you should slam your nuts in a car door for having not watched NBT. It's a pic of randall harris doing the largest method ever off of the second roller of a dup. Go watch the vid and then tell me its shopped.

It's called a slob grab for a reason.... cuz it's one of the easier grabs in the book O grabs.

Tindy and Tail Fish are not in the book O grabs, hence why they are NOT legit!

That is not photoshopped. It is a frame from a video not from a photo. The rider is Randall Harris from the DVD Natural Born Trillaz. Sometimes with the low quality frames from video you get these kind of things.

He does some of the most insane double ups I have ever seen...

Detention volume one. i forget the exact quote but its like " tindy is with your back hand behind the back foot on the toeside edge of the board, dont do it just dont do it." also if you look on the board tindy is written down on the board. i havent seen any other instructionals so i cant comment on that. Tindy is "in the book of grabs" under lame-ass grabs along with tailfish slob and nelan.
