the v210 or v215? which is their full out boarding boat , i know "both are" but the same way the 210 is better then the 211 nautique.
which throws the naturally bigger steeper wake the 210 or 215.
Im looking at sanger and moomba as a new boat for 2005.

My friend has a Sanger dlx wake edition, it has the same hull as the v210 but its a direct drive. I think most people that have ridden behind it are extremely pleased with the size and shape of the wake. This is definately an under-rated boat for the price it has a wake that is compareable to the top three ( SAN, MC, BU ). You can get the dlx loaded for around 30k and the v210 for a few k more. I have not been behind the v215 yet but i hear it has a wide wake???

The v215 does have a wide wake (96" beam), but it isn't that bad. I just bought the v215 over the v210 because my wife and I liked the flat sunpad, higher freeboard, better seat to floor ratio and storage space (obviously all of these things are because it is a bigger boat). That said, I think the v210 might be a better wakeboard specific boat, but the v215 is definatley no slouch. It responds very well to weight and is easy to steer even with the weight.

The 210 can have a flat sunpad if you opt for the Black Scorpion motor IIRC.
The 210 throws a steeper wake (note - not larger, just steeper).
I would say the 210 is their "all out wb boat" but the 215 is also an "all out wb boat" with more room.
I can honestly say the 215 is the best wake I have ever ridden. (OPINION!)
I am a huge fan of both, they would be on my potential purchase list above all others, with 'Bu second, Calabria third.

The 210 has a humped rear pad. It looks groovey imo but some people don't like it. Merc has stopped making the 330 scorp so the flat pad is no longer an option for the 210.

Both are excellent. Chavez covered it. We liked the V210 over the V215 primarily for the financial difference. We usually only have 4-5 people out on the boat with us, storage(which both boats have a ton of BTW) and space was not a concern. We liked the little humped sunpad area as the water drained off very fast. We have the V210 WS with the front ballast option and it generates an excellent wake. My wife liked the steering feel and throttle response of the V210 over the V215. We test drove both models along with a variety of other boats(Mailbu, Moomba and Tige)

Well not the afficiondo here by any means, but it does sit lower in the water than any other boat I have ever seen or been in. Some early Ski Nautiques had low freeboard
I personally think it looks great in the water.

no doubt.
i drive mostly malibus, and every time I get behind the wheel of my friends v-210 i'll take water over the bow a few times until i start compensating my driving habits for the rest of the day. Still, I absolutely love the wake behind that boat. It responds to weight very well.

The 210 definatly has a low freeboard. This is because of its heritage, before there really were "wakeboard" boats. Compare it to ski boats of the 80's and 90's prostar 190's, responses etc. and you will get a feel that its low profile was very common in boats designed around the same time.

| Sanger's heritage is actually in making low profile drag boats, or "hot boats"...then they got into making ski boats.

khoekz16, Yes you can get a Sanger dlx for around 30k with ballast and tower. Only problem is you have to come out west to get it.

There's actually a cool pic of an old sanger drag boat in an issue of wbm I'm not sure which issue though.

This is because of its heritage

I was refering specifically to the 210. I am sure there are many factors that play into it. I was just making the statement that low freeboard was very common for skiboats in the time that the 210, dlx were first designed.

| aFramer, that's the thing though...you dont need 3000 pounds in the boat with a Sanger from my experience...maybe half of that at most, and the wake is very good.

K-dub <-- is correct. You MIGHT want to put 1500 in the boat, but I think that you will find that the 210 is more than adequate with 1000 or so.
We had the 215 loaded down a few weeks back with factory weight (1100), full gas tank (45? gal), and 10 people (& gear etc.). Simply put, the wake was nuts.

| chavez, I bet it was...I remember one time last summer, we had a v-210 loaded to the gills...I think right around 2000#, plus 7-8 people. The wake was a damn monster. It took me a while to get used to getting booted every time. It was almost like hitting a D-up every time you hit the wake. Speaking of Double Ups, i'd have to say that my favorite of all time is behind that same sanger...cutting into that thing is intimidating.

K-dub, it's pretty crazy - I'm not intimidated because I know beforehand I am going to wreck hard, so I just go with it!
The oops 3 to buttplant is a cool trick. I am going to work on my oops inverts next!

SICK PIC K-dub!!!!
#1800 + 11 is the most weight we had in ours. When the rider cut in to the double up all you could see was his head as he dropped into the trough. That was a fun weekend.
The V210 is a jandle with a V-8 in the back, that being said it is suprisingly dry, we never take wakes over the back, only over the front if your not paying attention.

Imagine Sangers glee when wakeboarding becomes popular, there crappy ski hull becomes a world class wakemaker. Pretty sure there DXII is an excellent 3 event and barefoot boat tho.

Skiing behind the V210 is easy, Just use a 150 ft rope to get clear of the wake...

| I agree with all said, the wake is surprisingly easy to build. This is because it's narrow hull design & semi-V entry allows it to settle deep into the water with little effort. Have you guys ever emptied all the sacs & with only yourself gone hauling ass around the lake? That thing handles like a sportscar. Hard turns are fun in that thing as it barely leans.
