They are going to start moving much faster now that the season is getting near. Also get the word out to your local dealers. You might get lucky and pickup a trade that they take in on a new 2013 boat. _________________ Wakeskating

Are you in a hurry to buy? If not, I'd first figure out which boat (brand/model) I'd want, and then start searching for the right boat.
How much of the time will you be wakeboarding? What's your level, do you care about a good wake?
With your budget I'd be looking at Super Sport Nautiques (and maybe Sport/Air Nautiques if V-drive isn't a necessity), Mastercraft 205's, and Sunsetters.
Whatever you do just keep posting what you find here and you'll hear what we think of it.
Good luck! _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

I'm a beginner at wakeboarding and skiing. I've kneeboarded behind a i/o and skied behind a fishing boat lol.
Only reason I would prefer a v-drive is the ease of storage.
Budget is going to end up being closer to $15,000 than 20,000. I know that pretty much eliminates a v-drive, but the wife is mad about my increase in budget. First boat we looked at was an i/o for $8,000 lol. |

I am in Columbia, SC. If I found a supra launch for under $10,000, I would buy it with my eyes closed. That was a steal! |

Yeah. I drove all the way to Orlando to buy it. It was loaded with literally everything perfect pass, sick audio, and 3k lbs of ballast. I'm telling you I still feel guilty like I stole it. But seriously if you can find one under 15 which I do see a few every now and then, you should jump on it cause there sick boats. |

Idk if your willing to travel but here's one in Orlando... Boats seem to be cheaper in FL. I bet you could talk him down 14ish if you went to look at it.

Only thing that would worry me traveling that far is if I didn't like it or couldn't get the price where I wanted it. I would feel obligated to buy it since I already traveled. It sure is a nice looking boat, though. The supra I posted further up was my best find so far, but it was sold.
Is the malibu response I posted a good deal? From reading, it seems the main issue is that it rides real low in the water. It does have a wedge to help with the wakeboard wake. If I go look at it, how much should I offer on it? |

That prostar doesn't look so bad and we all know the 205 will throw a good wake. I would just stay away from all the boats with shallow hulls. My last boat was a ski boat and I hated it. I would have atleast 3 rollers over the front every time with 1k lbs in it. Bigger is always better when it comes to wake boats |

Some great options I think! The Pro Star looks good, that last Wakesetter does, and the '99 Pro Air too. That last one seems to have some space for negotiations, why not make an offer and see how low he can go. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

Yeah the wakesetter looks like it's missing the wedge tho... That could help you drive the price down |

Thanks for the help.
Called on the wakesetter, it's located right up the road from me at Lighthouse Marina. Been in dry storage there for it's entire life, but it is missing the wedge.
Emailed on the Pro Air and called on the Prostar, waiting to hear back on both of those. |

I'm pretty sure that xstar is the same boat as the mastercraft prostar 205 which is a good but cheaper. |

That is an amazing boat, Texas is a little far though. I know the condition is important, but condition being equal is the 01 wakesetter or 98 air nautique worth more? |

Due to unexpected circumstances (refinancing the house), my budget has been decreased even more. I am planning to go look at this boat. I know it's not perfect, but how much should I offer and what should I look out for?

So what's your budget now? I'm not sure about the wake on that Ski Ray. I think someone on this forum has or had one. You can probably find some wake pics in his thread. That Supra looks nice. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |

Budget is definitely under $15,000. That Supra does look nice so I will give them a call. What should I offer on the Supra? I am paying with cash.
This a good looking boat that I found, but the seller said he's not negotiable.

I would go with the supra over the nautique, since they are about the same price. I am not sure what a fair offer would be for the supra. Try to look up the NADA value and see what it tells you is a fair price. |

Be aware that that Nautique has wood in the floors. Best look for '93 and later when looking at Nautiques. _________________ FlyZone Wakeboarding Costa Rica |
