Might want to try one of the 28,000 other threads concerning backrolls.

yeah i had hit about 8 over a long period of time, and just stuck 2 more this evening because i tried it differently, which obviously helped

but yeah make sure you swing out about 15 to 20 feet and let the boat start to pull you in then start your progressive cut and really stomp on it on the last 5 to 6 feet and dont let off, also make sure you knees are not bent, hit the wake kinda stiff and dont throw it early(this is why i have been messin up recently) make sure you get good pop and then just slam your head to your shoulder and it should come right around no problem

and also try not to sling the handle lest you get screwed, try to keep it at your waist

i just started backrolls this past week. Please note that I have no yet ridden away from a backroll yet. I have come close but these are just a few tips that really helped me. First which should be standard for everything; dont let go of the rope. If you hold on to the rope you will rotate much better and you have a better chance of not eating it. Second, throw the roll hard. My first time I threw it hard and almost came around on it. All my other attempts were very weak. I hope these help and do understand that I havent mastered this trick or anything.

It kinda varies person to person.Rainther45, was right in that you need to throw it pretty hard. if you have a proper progressive edge it's not so bad but just because you do a progressive edge doesn't mean your body will do the trick for you. just come in like jakenj said slow at first the hit it at the end and don't release your cut. then when in the air throe you head to you shoulder and it should whip your whole upper body to the side and around. i know with my buddy's boat i don't get much hangtime for my roll so i have to focus on sucking my legs in to get the rotation. thinkin about it maybe i should just grab it?! lol anyway good luck man.

the rotation i try to throw is hip through hip with the left hip going into the air, right ear to the water. Hope that helps some if you have some questions about the rotation used.
