Any suggestions to help me from over rotating a ralley? It's really starting to hurt Embarassed I'm trying to keep my eyes on the horizon and I've even tried not kicking back very hard but I always end up almost upside down neck first. Confused

when u cut in keep a nice progressive edge, the key for learning this trick is arm position. cut in with your arms bent and after you hit the wake release them and look directly at the tower. make sure the hard edge doesnt pull your arms out while cutting because then the boat has nothing to pull out and you will go into a backroll.

I'm not sure what you mean by over rotating, but if you're spinning over so your back hits the water, make sure you have even weight on both feet on your entire cut (most people put too much weight on their back foot, so put more weight on that front foot than you think you need to). If that's not what's happening, then just ignore me Smile

I'm not sure what he meant by over rotating either, but would you guys recommmend me trying ralleys if I don't use a tower or pylon. I think I could pull it off, but those are always someone's last words.

I used to try them all the time without a tower or pylon, never got them, but I wasn't doing them right. So go for it!

Oh, and it's a Raley, not ralley.

I've seen a couple types of raleys, the kind that are forced, and the kind that are done with the correct edge. Most of the raley is done in the edge. PJ Marks put it nicely with a mindset of 1 being your weakest edge, 10 being strongest:

Cut progressively up to a 10 right before the wake, then take it down to a 9 at the top of the wake, standing tall. That edge change will be accelerated in the air, causing your board to drift behind you.

Sounds like you may be forcing the board to go up. Work on that edge. You may notice that if you do a wake jump on a really hard edge, if you let off a bit at the wake, you have to do a lot of work to keep the board under you, that's the edge you want for a raley.

if you get the edge right on the raley, it just throws your feet behind you, and with killer height!
