My friend gave me the idea the other day about putting grip tape on an old wakeboard that I have. Has anyone thought about or tried doing that? I don't know if that's a really dumb idea or if it'd actually work. I know they aren't exactly the same size or shape. I really don't have any other use for that board and it's not worth selling. Any thoughts?

How do you think wakeskating started. People would stick foam pads to an old wakeboard. I wouldn't bother doing it now, I would just buy a wakeskate if you are wanting to skate more.

If you're sure the old wakeboard isn't worth selling, then you really don't have anything to lose by sticking some grip tape on it and giving it a go...
This coming from someone who has never been on a wakeskate though...

I did this on an old 132 Double Up board. It worked fine and was fun to mess around on. I just barely tried a real skate for the first time and it is so much better. I'd say juts look for a good deal on a skate.

ok maybe i should clarify...by old wakeboard that isn't worth selling i mean a really old (maybe 8 years?) o'brien that came as a beginner board with sandle bindings for maybe $160. I'm not sure how many people are going to want it for $75 Confused if i could get $20 for it i'd be surprised. but maybe i'll try the tape just for the heck of it and if i really like it i'll buy an actual skate
