OK, I ended up buying a board last year and it was too tiny! it was a 128 divine....i was able to pick up things fast, like surface tricks, but crossing the wake and w2w was really hard cause it was shakey...anywho...i got a 2006 Obrien 136 alta. Does anyone know much about this board? I can't seem to find much information about it. I'm 5'8 and 120ish so will this be a better size for me? I haven't been able to try it out yet cause mother nature decided to drop the weather (it went from 80 to 40!!! : ).
On another note...i was looking at bindings to buy. I was looking at the Hyperlite noise and the Liquid Force Minx....I noticed that my old bindings (HL) could fit on the obrien board, but I was looking at the minx set up and it seemed different. Would the Minx not fit on an obrien board? _________________ "The beatings will continue until moral improves..."

You got what looks to be a great board and 136 is a much better size for you than an 128, here is all the specs on it: http://www.wakeworld.com/boardguide/getboard7.asp?ProductID=3009
most bindings fit most boards, the only thing is that with some board/ binding combos the washer and bolt sizes differ so you may have to replace the hardware (you either need to get longer or shorter screws, I'm not sure which is what for what board) but after that it should fit , but you can get kits for that http://www.buywake.com/catalog/detail/CH_pWXHU - that's just an example I don't know for sure if that's what you need or not, If you are getting them from a shop ask the people at the shop too _________________ If you are assuming I’m a guy by my screen name, you would be very surprised if you saw me in a bikini

The O'brien Alta was the exact board my heart was set on.... until I tried the Hyperlite Drive - some of that may be due to the fact I'm a snowboarder and liked the edgy feel for my riding preference. My first wakeboard(when I didn't know what I was doing) was a 122, and way too squirrely. I'm about the same weight as yourself and what you picked (the Alta) is a great. Sorry I don't know much about the boots(bindings). WakeG seems to be on top of it with the different screw lengths |

The Obrien Atla is the best board ever. I LOVE my Atla and have been able to progress from my LF Diva...which was my first board. Anyway, on the bindings you might try the CWB Torq bindings. I have them and love their flexibility and easy to get into and out of! Check them out you can't go wrong! |

devildogavtr, I'm pretty sure Dallas Friday also rode the Alta at one time. It's a good board.
H20orSnoLetsGo, The Drive is a great board almost the same as the 3DS. The Blur is also the same board as the Drive with different graphics. _________________ In God We Trust

Still loving my HL drive! I may look for more comfortable boots (feet kinda cramp up if I do a lot of riding in one day), but I'll be holding on to that board for some time |

My GF loves her LF Minx. I know she broke 'em in using the bathtub (hot water, stand in 'em for a couple 10 minute sessions) and they have been super comfortable for her. _________________ - "Hurry up and finish your wine so we can go get us some milkshakes " - |
