Hey guys, I've been browsing the past couple of days on this forum and have noticed how helping you guys are with newbies, trick learners, ect. I'm not newly introduced in this sport (started back in '02) but I haven't really been keeping up with it (usually wakeboard about 3-4 times each summer). Tricks? W2W and accidentally did a surface 180 after coming up switch.

I've just recently bought a new wakeboard so that I can join my school's wakeboard club in March, and had one question. I had been looking at this board for a long time so its not like it was an impulse buy but the first time and for the past summers, I've been riding a friend's Hyperlite Revelation 142. I don't know what year but was wondering, since I bought a '07 HL Motive 134, if it will be easier to get up, do tricks, ect. I know that thats probably an easy question to answer but can I get some details as well, like how much of a difference will it make? Was it a good thing that I learned on a heavier/longer board?

Thanks guys! I hope to be on here more often.

it depends on your wieght and hieght... and in my opinion, i find girls boards are much more enjoyable than a girl riding a guys board. but thats just me. whats ur wieght and height? Im 130 and 5'4'' and i rode a 132. theres another thread on here that we discussed about this topic similarly

ah, ok I'll have to look at that other thread. I'm 135 and 5'6. Oh and I actually put the wrong measurements on the board I got. It's the Motive 134 not the 138.

The first thing you will probably notice is how much more you can maneuver your new board, because it is smaller. You probably wont pop up of the water (when first standing up) as quickly as you did with the other board but its not going to be hard to do either. As cadence said, its a good length for you. The motive is a great board to learn surface tricks on, with or without the fins, I remember when I tried one that it was a loose board.

Not at the moment no. But starting in March the WB Club at my college (U of P) starts up. UP is in Portland so we ride on the Willamette and Columbia rivers. My parents live in Lake Oswego which is 13 miles from Portland so I ride Lake O. in the summer.
