|
|
Hey, I've tried about 8 of these and I've lost some of my fear to do it... I havent finished the rotation yet, all the times I've landed on my back, havent seen any video of me doing it, but the other person that was in the boat told me i let go of the handle very early. I searched and saw some mex roll advice and someone said that to prevent from having the handle yanked from your hands to square your shoulders with the wake. Does that mean to put them in line with the wake? as in a tantrum?
Any advice is welcome!!! Thanks!
P.S: I also tried regular backrolls, but I just cant seem to get that rotation! I get too freaked out I cant even really try it... I'm doing better with the mex, so I want to stick to it until I can land it! _________________ http://www.miamiskinautique.com

| i do regular backrolls, but you don't need to cut out really far before coming in. just make sure you have a hard edge right at the wake and keep the handle in close to you. pop before you throw it. |

| haha i used to do these for years before doing a real backroll... i still do them sometime by accident too... i just throw my self forward like im jumping off a dock doing an frontflip.. its like a sumbersalt on the ground... and right when i leave the wake i let go with my back hand and just flip foward and land... try to get good height, dont come into the wake hard tho it will throw you off... the falls suck tho... good luck |

Keep the handle close to your front hip. If you let your front hand get away from you, It'll either pull you onto your face or pull the rope out of your hands. _________________

Hi,
I do only mexican rolls. Landing a Mexi roll is a matter of RIGHT EDGING.
For a regular BR you must have a progressive edge with lot of line tension at the wake.
For the Mexi roll it's not the same, your edge should be a little like a pop edge... The more tension you have the earlier the rope will pull you.
Try the Mexi Roll without adding extra edge at the wake and with not so much line tension |

yeh i found (may not b right way) that if u kinda pump up the wake and over your head and just keep tucked up you get around and also i hold the handle in my fingertips, not in the palm of my hand cause it always seems to get ripped out. _________________

Most important is to stay tucked. Don't get freaked out and open up because once you do you stop and you will not be able to finish the rotation. So the tighter the tuck the faster you rotate. Funny that you are mentioning the mexi rolls i just posted a topic about it not that long ago because i never knew what it was called. _________________ i give 100% in school:
