Hello I have a 2003 Svfara 609 it has a mercruiser towsports efi 3 star ultra low emmsisons motor. I was wondering how worried I should be about wakesurfing behind it? like how long can I go for? |

If you are wakesurfing behind any boat it is generally safe but you should still make sure that everyone on board understands the risks and symptoms of Carbon Monoxide poisoning and wears a life jacket.
Symptoms include shortness of breath, headaches, dizziness, nausea and light-headedness. High levels of CO can be fatal.
Infants, elderly and those who suffer from anaemia, respiratory or heart disease are more susceptible to carbon monoxide poisoning |

It's pretty addictive, isn't it. We usually take about 2-3 sets on the wakeboard each, then surf for 2 sets. It makes for a great day. _________________ http://www.downsideupvideo.com

If you're worried about this, I'd recommend Fresh Air Exhaust. I installed one on my boat. I've attached a picture. Basically, it drives the exhaust into the water so it surfaces far behind the rider. It reduces emissions signficantly and, as a bonus, reduces exhaust noise so you can hear your tunes better |

looks like it also restricts the power output a bit? Does it also fight the rudder??? |

I just ordered a fresh air exhaust for my mobuis lsv. We have just started wakesurfing and we ride quite a bit with small children in the boat. So i figured for 300 bucks i would have the extra peice of mind that im not damaging brain cells!
I also prefer a quiet boat and i hear this will greatly reduce the noise levels.
Ill post an update next week when i have it installed. |

Actually, no. You do lose about 1 MPH on the top end due to extra drag and it does affect your steering a bit, but you get used to it. I didn't care about top end. |

It does both. I'd rather listen to tunes than my engine exhaust |
