I hope I can explain this one correctly.....
I have been doing/trying these for the past 3 or 4 years. Sometimes the look like they came from "The Book" DVD, and the other 100 times I don´t get the handle or can´t spin.
Everyone always says to wait before you spin, but........
they don´t tell you to turn your hips in the way you are traveling as soon as
you leave the wake. Does this make sense?? I sit at work all day waiting for the weekend so I can try this one again and thinking about what I´m doing wrong. Somehow it seems in my head that I don´t let my hips come around until I start pulling the handle.
Am I right?

You pop, pull the handle to your butt with BOTH HANDS, then rotate your hips. Pulling the handle to your back will bring your hips around.
Remember the saying "where your head goes, your body will follow." So pull the handle to your back, and look over your shoulder. These two things combined will make your hips (and your whole body) spin the three. The hardest part for most people learning to spin is keeping the handle tight and NOT LETTING GO halfway through.
Thus, pop->pull handle to back and begin to look over shoulder->body follows->handle pass->land->do it two more times (tricks don't count unless you land them twice).

Exactly. If you pull the handle with both hands right as you leave the wake you'll get it. Concentrate on the handle pull, not your hips

| Ya concentrate on grabing the handle with your opposite hand. I have noticed when i can complete the handle pass i can land them perfectly.

I wouldn't say you have to pull with both hands, that would kind of throw your balance off, and make it more difficult for your other hand to get around your back to grab the handle.
I wouldn't think about your hips as much as just waiting, like everyone else said. Also, try looking over your shoulder more so than rotating your hips.

I don't think your hips have anything to do with it. They should stay even with the rest of your body. You start the rotation with the handle at the peak of your jump. This is the most consistent way to land them. Also don't take a huge cut into the wake because it increases line tension and makes passing the handle more difficult.

andy mogg, i have the opposite problem, i make the pass 99% of the time, i just cant stick the landings. Try to keep the handle extra close to your hips before you leave the wake, it will make the pass soooo much easier. This is one of my sketchy ass landings, im doing switch HS FS 3's, i ride goofy. Looks like i started the rotation a lil early too...

| WannabeSS, It just looks like you throw them away from the boat too much or lean over too much when passing the handle...try to stay straighter, that should help. It could also be possible that its caused from leaving early as you said.

Hey WannabeSS,
Where do you ride? It looks like you are riding in 595 or one of the channels. I am looking for a place to ride downhere and the only lake that I know of is the one by the Miami airport but it gets full of jetskis and cops.

Good eye . It's markham park, it's on state road 84 and weston road. We were riding in the back canal which is much wider and deeper, but they just locked it up yesterday . Ill be out there this weekend.

Is that where the girl that was running got killed by the aligator? Or is that west of the ramp in markham park? I ride in the lake at the Miami airport. If there are no cops we go behind the Hilton and if there are cops we go to the back lake. I have a yamaha jetboat with no tower, but the wake at 20 MPH is ok to get some air. Let me know if you are ever in this part of the woods. may be we can do some riding.

That's west of the ramps, it's too narrow east. I dont usually go down there, but if you ever come up, let me know.

The bridge is not low at all, i go through at speed w/o a problem, the pole doesnt go on until after the bridges. The campground ramp is closed b/c of hurricane restoration, but we were sneaking back there through another entrance outside of the park, until they gated it up . That was the best water EVER

We've got a 98 Ski Nautique and added a 1200lb fat sac (around $300) She's a beast and it's tough on gas, but it gives a sweet wake.
