OK - just sharing - bought a 9ft longboard - and headed to the Texas coast for a week vacation - We had 2 days of storms so the wave were big enough to ride only 2 of the 7.....anyway the kids enjoyed playing on the board more than me - my nephew (6) rode it all the way in and broke the fins off in the sand - Rolling Eyes so catching a wave wasn't really that exciting - but I did finally get to experience riding a wave....

but....on a good note we had a freakin' blast on the wakeskate - we brought my Dad's mule and before the beach became too crowded we rode the wakeskate -that was a lot of fun - butterslide on a wave - some 360s, 180s, off the wave - got lots of attention from onlookers too.....

anyway as for my beach trip - the surfing really sucked - a lot of work for a 10 to 15 second ride - I wont even bother bringing the surfboard next year - just the mule and the wakeskate Laughing

wish I had taken some pics Crying or Very sad

Sorry your first surf outing was a bust! Have a visit in California, see if your mind doesn't change.

Here's a few pics from one of my last trips to San Diego.

I will do that - I enjoyed getting up - but really TX coast just doesn't produce waves that are worth a crap - even during the middle of a storm Rolling Eyes

I'm gonna take the 9 fter out to the river this weekend - see if I can't nose ride it or get my dog to get up with me.......

I don't see the pic - If I can get my lab up with me I'll get some pics - she will ride a flat tube by herself - and loves it - it will be fun to try anyway
