I have really been trying to get a "good progressive pop" consistent. I'm always reading the tips and checking out videos. Is it best if you try to stand at or in the trough, or do you get the maximum pop if you stand tall at the peak of the wake. All help appreciated

If you try to stand in the trough you lose all board flex and get no height (from my experience). Just cut aggresively through the wake and when you are comfortable with that concentrate on the pop. Any of the more experience riders have any ideas? I would say start popping 1/2 way up wake, but my wake is small Sad You should be standing tall when leaving the wake

look y'all, the pop comes from line tension and standing tall off of the wake.
as far as line tension goes, the progressive edge is best, that way, when your at the peak of the wake and pop off, there's so much line tension that it bucks you up into the air.
now then, the pop, that's achieved by line tension and STANDING TALL OFF OF THE TOP OF THE WAKE.
when you do both of these things, you get big air. Here's a general tip:
Edge hard, you go way out into the flats
Pop good, you go really high and w2w
do both, and now you're riding like Randy Harris Smile

Got a typo in there. I meant to say stand tall in the trough or @ the top of the wake.

You lose your edging power if you stand tall in the trough/swell, that will also cause you to get pulled forward by the line. How you take off his how you will land. Thats why you always hear to carry your edge all the way through the top of the wake, and stand tall as you are leaving the wake (detention vol.1). Different tricks require different edges, namely tantrums where you actually collapse your edge before you hit the wake so you get bucked over, but yes for a normal wake jump you want to ride your edge up the wake and keep that line super tight all the way up the wake, then stand tall as you release. Its a timing thing, too early or too late can make all the difference, but you will get feel for it.

what helps me was not bending at the waist all the way thru the egde, and keeping my back straight. start standing tall at the bottom of the wake so youre fully standin at the top of the wake.
but i think its the bending at the waist that screws things up.
hope this helps
