|

Started a new thread because I see a few ladies are interested on this subject too. Any recommendations on bindings?
Am a LF Fan. I currently use Sphinx size S (minx was sold out then). They give me lots of cramps, and my front heel shifts forward after a hard wakejump. I had to stop the boat to fix my bindings before I continue (call me a chicken because Im afraid of accidents). |

I don't have much experience with them (different kinds of bindings), but I do have the Hyperlite Split minis and I haven't had any problems with my feet cramping up in them. Doesn't seem like I shift in them too much either, although I have managed to wreck wrong a few times and get them to pop my feet out of them.
As far as any discomforts, I rode a lot last weekend and managed to rub the inside of my right leg raw a bit, but other than that, I haven't experienced any major issues. _________________ My other water preference is "frozen". |

Hyperlite edens are deffinitly the best bindings i've ever riden! easy to get in and out of, but i never fall out of them unless i fall really hard. The footbed couldn't get any more comfortable!
The hyperlite noise bindings are also great! |

LF Transits I'd definitely recommend to anybody. The Shanes and the Watsons from Liquid force are more spendy but a little more comfortable than the Transits IMO.
The Hyperlite Noise boot is also a good one of your feet fit right in them. I have tiny, tiny feet and the smallest HL boot is still too big. |

I tried the Noise bindings and they hurt my leg in the top part of the binding... and they don't have as much heel hold down as I like. They footbed was really comfortable though. (and they look pretty!) I also tried the Watsons... and maybe the stance on that board wasn't the right one for me but they also hurt my leg on the top part! They were very stiff but super comfy when I tried them on (except for the top part) and the landings were really soft...
Transits still are no 1 on my list... and those white ones... I want to get them sooo bad! _________________ http://www.miamiskinautique.com

Criswb: which Transits do you wear? Not sure where I read or if I had mistaken, Transits 2006 is not as good as 2005? Have you tried the Shane? Its between Shane and Transit, but I'm still open for more suggestions. By the way, Criswb, saw your grab photo in one of the threads, looked great.
Pls excuse me, but what does "IMO" stands for? |

shazie, IMO stands for "in my opinion"
I know you weren't asking me, but I'll definitely back up the statement that this years' Transits (2006) are not as good as last years' (2005). I tried both, took both out...this years were a bit more comfortable but they didn't hold my foot as well as last years did. If you are looking for a pair of 2005 Transits, my shop has them in small and medium and we definitely ship out...unfortunately I think we only have camo left!
If you are looking at the Shanes, you'll definitely want to try them on first. The only problem I had with them was that due to the neoprene wrap around the ankle, I had a harder time getting them tight. I liked the older lace cinchers with the knobs a lot better than the slidy ones with the LF logo because it was 100 times easier to get them tight. If you have to choose between this years Transits or Shanes, I'd definitely say to go with the Shanes. You'll get more bang for your buck. Wakeside.com has the limited Shanes, which I think are much better looking than the white pimp sneakers.
criswb, I more than agree with you on the Noise boot. My foot felt super sloppy in them which I absolutely hate. I'm not happy unless my feet start going a little numb in my boots, and Transits are the only ones that comfortably do that. |

Dear Ladies thanks for the recommendations.
Shanes: Are they hard to maintain / get smelly because they are closed toes? My main concern is the sizing. Because they come in too many various sizes, I'm afraid of getting something that feels OK at the shop but actually a size smaller/ larger after they get wet. Where we live, we cant demo boots. I wear shoe size 7 1/2 - 8.
Shortyme - Also, you looked very good in the photos (posted in 2005). Do you still participate in competitions? Also, I just bought the Viper lines that you recommended. Got it because I didnt want to be a nuisance everytime I ride with my personal handle, even though I share me handle with everyone. |

I have the 05 Transits... But I have a friend who has the 06 and he really likes them... well he has a big foot so they may be tighter for him as they will be for us girls. I havent tried the Shanes but think theyre the tackiest bindings Ive seen! The LE look way better!
I'm the same shoe size as you and the Watsons I tried on were a size 7-9 and they fit well. I guess the sizing in those is the same as in the Shanes. You shouldnt have the same prob with the Shanes as I did with the watsons since I've heard theyre more flexible.
And thanks for the compliments on the pic! I have to get some new ones since I've learned to jump higher in these last weeks! _________________ http://www.miamiskinautique.com

| Hi ladies, finally tried the Shanes binding at the shop yesterday size 7-9, seems to be my size (in fact a bit tight). Today tried my guy friend's shanes, same size, but its way too loose, my heels are out. Wasnt sure of our feet suppose to mold-in the boots? |

I just got a pair of LF Watson's at the beginning of the summer and I love them! They are so comfy and you don't even have to use water to get into them. Super easy to get out of too. They fit me great, I wear a size 10 in women's and got the mediums.
I had a pair of HL Parks for 3 seasons before that, they were great too, but last season they really started to hurt my feet. They were like pinching them and making them cramp up. It was kinda weird, but they were great bindings before that happened. |

shazie, for that very reason, i don't share my boots with anybody. The foam in the boots is heat-molded and will expand if people with bigger feet use them...they're too expensive for that. |

Hi Ladies
Thanks for all the advices. I finally bought my pair of Shanes!!!!!. It was on super discount and there was only a few pairs left. My heart went for the closed toes to avoid foot shifting forward. I will report on its comfort level after a few rides. |

HELPPPPPPPPP!!!!! Oh No!!!! After my "Shanes" were in the water, I think they are tooo big!!!!
I'm a 7 1/2 - I got the 7-9. Before I made my decision, I tried the smaller size at the store, but I could not even slip my foot in (of course they did not allow me to wet the boot there). Please give me some ideas how they should fit!!!
How do they suppose to feel, as snug as a ski boot? Its seems to have lots of toe space. Am I not lacing it tight enough? When compared to my current Spinx - size small, they seemed lot larger!!!!!
I'll give it a couple more shots, if not, I think I have to sell it on Ebay or something. Even though got them on sale, but they were still pricey. SUPER FRUSTRATION!!! |

| Is your foot sliding forward toward the toes, or does it feel too roomy? My opinion is that they are more supple on the ankles, and therefore less support, if your foot pronates (flat footed) you may get too much lateral movement in the shanes. i think you will be able to sinch down the footbed strap to prevent heel/toe sliding, but give it a few runs. some people I know loved the cusiony feel, but it took a few runs to get over the newly discovered fine toeside edging the closed toe boots provide. if you have high arches, you should be able to adjust the lace to compensate, plenty of wiggly toe room, just weird at first |

wakeflopper, Thank you, I feel a little better now. I wasnt too aggressive in riding today, thus my toes did not get the chance to shift forward. Toes seem very roomy. But definately, I'll try to sinch it down more.
I'm just hoping the size 7-9 is the same for man or woman's feet.
Tomorrow, I'm going back to the shop to try size 6 once again ...... and raise hell.
Where I live, our dealers are very limited. Most of our salepeople IMO are not very knowledgable about their products. This site has helped me alot. Thanks ladies. |

| oh. I think the sizes are for men, ie: a 9 1/2 mens fits me, a womens 11. Too bad they don't list the sizes in euro by cm, this would eleviate a lot of confusion. If your feet felt stable, just cruise around edging and see if your heel/toe carves are much sharper, then see if you slide on bigger jumps, if your control is keen, and your foot doesn't move, you've probably got the right size. Too bad the pro shop doesn't let you demo a product/size first, too assure the INVESTMENT (cause that's what it is) is right for you. I know many do let you essentially check out product for demo and if you like it, take the price off. |
