Finally got some pictures from the wake loaded down pretty well. There have been a lot of questions and doubts about the wake so here are some good pictures. We had the factory ballast full (650 pounds), 2 350lb fat sacs in the back compartments, 1 500 pound fat sac in the bow and 4-5 people. The rider is 6'1" riding at 75 feet at 22.5 mph.

C4Avalanchen, I disagree that they myth has been busted. The wake curls and disintegrates immediately past him at 75 feet and it is unremarkable forward of 75, where most of us ride. This is still not a great advertisement for the wake of that boat. I am sure the boat is nice, and has the typical fit & finish of a MasterCraft, but it is not a wake-making phenom. It is probably a great crossover boat and can perform a lot of functions. But let's not get caught up with saying that it makes a great wakeboarding wake, because by most accounts it does not, and this photo of a weighted one does not refute anything that has been previously said. This is why I get upset when I hear that people are spending 60k on these boats. I can't see how people consider that acceptable. To each their own I guess.

Erik...i concur

for a weighted boat even in not so buttery water that wake should be hold pretty good form, in this case it looks kinda busted up

Agreed, pic looked like it had no ballast whatsoever and maybe just a driver. Took a friend out the other day who's been riding behind his buddy's X2 and couldn't believe the wake behind our boat. Said it scared him to death and absolutely stomped the X2. Won't mention what I have so it doesn't turn into a vs. thread but from what I've heard the X2 wake is not very impressive and the pics pretty much show that as well.

Erik, I agree with you about the outrageous prices not only on this boat, but pretty much all wakeboats. However, by the looks of Sportster4Tec's riding ability (if the pics are of himself), he probably didn't purchase the boat without a test drive and pull. Therefore making a purchase based on HIS thoughts, not the thoughts of those who haven't even ridden in or out of the boat and are making judgement based on pics and heresay. After reading all the bull-s---t on this and other forums about my personal boat, it's hard to believe anything that is posted, knowing what I know about my boat now! Sportster is throwin down and having a good time with his own $60k! Thats all that matters! To each his own I know!

Not impressed. Neutral The wake has no lip forward of the rider and washed behind him.... even with extra ballast & at 22.5 mph!!!!!

honestly, I've ridden behind unweighted i/os with better wakes (based on those pictures). Well, the last 2 pictures anyway. The first 2 look ok.

Amen to that Brad. My old Four Winns had a better wake than that. (I am not joking) Of course it was a pain in the ass to keep at speed. Wink

In the boat's defense the lake was really choppy that day, and the later pics were with about 400 pounds less weight in the back and two less people. The wake is smoother farther back when it's not so choppy. It may not be the steepest, biggest or best wake, but all I know is that when we had all the weight in the boat, it looked like a straight up wall next to me about lower thigh high. It gives a good consistant pop and has a great shape with a pretty good landing zone so I'm happy. Personally I can't say that the wake is holding me back at all, so I'm not complaining.

Edit: Also, after just thinking about it I let one of my buddies drive while I was taking the pictures and I think he was actually going more like 23-24 in most of the pictures.

Sportster4Tec, is that the white X-2 from Bennets? If I am right, that looks like False River too? If so, do you have a camp right in front of the Cracker Barrel gas station? I have seen an X-2 on False River right down around there a few times and wondered if it was you.

Haha yeah that's us, it's actually black though, with white on the back. That's not actually our camp though, that is a friend's camp that we visit a lot. I think I've seen your VLX out there too.
